Would you consider the audio edition of The Science of Natural Healing to be better than the print version?

No. The professor's delivery was stilted and like a lecture.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Science of Natural Healing?

When he said Lucy was human's ancestor. I think that's been pretty well disproved at this time.

Would you be willing to try another one of Professor Mimi Guarneri’s performances?

    No

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    No.

    Any additional comments?

I was really interested in the subject matter, but could not listen to the professor's delivery. The subject could have been so interesting but I just couldn't stick with it.

Told with the same old-fashioned narrative power as the novels of Herman Wouk, The Seamstress is the true story of Seren (Sara) Tuvel Bernstein and her survival during wartime. This powerful eyewitness account of survival, told with power and grace, will stay with listeners for years to come.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Seamstress to be better than the print version?

    Have not read the print.

What did you like best about this story?

Beautifully told story about a woman who was one of the very few who lived through Ravensbrck concentration camp

What about Wanda McCaddon’s performance did you like?

    Could not have been better.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Could hardly put it down

    Any additional comments?

This is one of the most personal accounts of the Holocaust I've come across. I haven't read the book, but rather listened to it . I could hardly take the earbuds out of my ears and yet, at times, it was so gut wrenching I wanted to craw under a quilt and hide from the hideous evil that pervaded Europe during WWII. In it, too, I see parallels to what is happening today with antisemitism growing by leaps and bounds in Europe again and Christians being tortured and murdered in the middle east. It will never end, that is for sure, but we must not forget nor fail to fight it at every turn, with every breath.

  • King's Cross: The Story of the World in the Life of Jesus

King's Cross is Timothy Keller's revelatory look at the life of Christ as told in the Gospel of Mark. There have been many biographies of Jesus, but few will be as anticipated as one by Keller, the man Newsweek calls "a C. S. Lewis for the 21st century." In it, Keller shows how the story of Jesus is at once cosmic, historical, and personal, calling each of us to look anew at our relationship with God. Like Keller's other books it has tremendous crossover appeal, but it is also ideal for the faithful.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

    The style of the readership.

What did you like best about this story?

    The material

How did the narrator detract from the book?

He took a very interesting subject and mono-toned it. It's putting me to sleep.

    Any additional comments?

Timothy Keller really knows his stuff, but it would be better to have someone with enthusiasm read his material.

  • Mere Christianity

Mere Christianity is C.S. Lewis' forceful and accessible doctrine of Christian belief. First heard as informal radio broadcasts and then published as three separate books, The Case for Christianity, Christian Behavior, and Beyond Personality, Mere Christianity brings together what Lewis sees as the fundamental truths of the religion.

What did you love best about Mere Christianity?

It's straightforward, unemotional approach to Christianity and how reasonable and sense able it is.

What aspect of Geoffrey Howard’s performance would you have changed?

It was too stilted..almost like listening to a computer talk.

    Any additional comments?

Having read it many years ago, it was good to hear it again though I wish the reader had sounded more human like.

Andy Carpenter gains possession of an adorable Bernese puppy whose owner was brutally murdered. Few can rival Andy's affection for dogs, and he will do whatever it takes to insure that this little pup doesn't fall into the wrong hands. However, his playful new friend is valued by several people, many of whom are willing to resort to violence to get what they want.It will take more than Andy's usual courtroom theatrics to save this dog, including a little help from his beloved Golden Retriever, Tara.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I've recommended it to several friends as a book to just enjoy; the humor, plot, they writer's ability to engage the reader.

    Any additional comments?

I've been looking for a writer who could entertain me with mystery without foul language or torrid sex scenes. I was able just to enjoy the whole book...so upbeat. I never quite guessed the outcome and didn't feel I was reading the "same ol' same ol' plot in which I knew what was coming.
