The characters were much easier to understand than in the first book. Also the Passion between Elijah and Vashti was so intense you couldn't cut it with a chain saw.
I liked Luke Daniels in the first book and he would have don a great job on book two, but Rachel Vivette, was ok. Sometimes she forgot when she was doing a mans voice and didn't change the tone. making the performance jumpy
When Vashti thinks Elijah is leaving her, she has so much trouble dealing with emotions that she's held down for over 60 years.
I enjoyed the story of book two in this series better, however I thought the narrator in book one was better. I hope book three will be better story with the first narrator.
Yes they are both very good but this story just hit me wrong
The main character had too much baggage to let go of and those around her wouldn't let her forget. Even in the end there was no closure on her circumstances.
Hollie Jackson was great it was the story that bothered me.
I just couldn't deal with this young persons hate for herself and those who made her feel that way. Yes she was a bit better in the end of the book but there was so much that could have made the story better. I'm not a writer or editor but I felt this book is something I can't recommend.
Molly Harper knows how make almost any situation humorous. Laugh out loud funny. This time the story is very complex, and just when you think you know who the bad guy is there are more twists and turns. But all comes out great
Ophelia reason for confession......I won't go further than that.
Amanda Ronconi is the voice of all of Molly Harper's books. She's great with accents, voices and emotions. I think that she's one of the reasons the audible version is so good.
Jealousy is bad for Vampires
Molly Harper's books always leave me feeling good There are always dark issues and trials but in the end it's always a good ending to each book. Looking forward to the next one
Trust, Truth, Respect
Samantha, how she grows and learns more about what she wants, if she can learn to deal with the truths of who Jack is and with how he loves her. Complex relationship, and very different from what most would expect. The Series started with "Dark Secret Love" then "The Delicious Torment" and "Wrapped Around Your Finger" continues where "Torment" left off. These books make "50 Shades of Gray" look like ground chuck next to Filet Mignon. I've been reading Ms Tyler's books and short stories for years. She's one of the best Erotic writers out there.
She did a wonderful job at expressing emotions, and there were plenty. I have only heard her in the previous book in this series.
Yes, but unfortunately I could not. However I started on Friday night and finished on Saturday afternoon
If you are into the genre of erotica, Alison Tyler is one of the best. She's been doing it for years, and lives the lifestyle. I recommend her works highly,
First, as a person who questions the existence of a supernatural being that controls our lives and makes rules for us to follow, and having read many books by Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, Michael Sherlock......I thought I'd like the female slant on the same. She is sharp to the point and doesn't pull punches.
Greta Christiana makes you want to hear what she's saying. There is humor, but also truth. As Christopher Hitchens said "Religion Poisons Everything".
I enjoyed her narration, she's well spoken and knows how to express HER words. Not many authors are experienced at narration, Ms Christina is. I've listened to several of her books and enjoyed them all
Very easy to do because it was short and to the point
I know I'll get more of Greta Christina books in the future.
Yes, yes, yes. I laughed out loud so many times I had to go back to re-listen to parts I missed. Saranna DeWylde is really great with the one liners.
Taking a different look at witches and warlocks. Even though the story was short, it had a beginning, middle and end. You didn't feel like you were left hanging.
Hollie Jackson is one of my favorite narrators. She's great with different voices, and emotions. When I see she's narration I always like to check out the book.
I think it would be too short to be a film.
Saranna DeWylde really has a way with words. I've listened to several of her books and most of them were really well written and with Hollie Jackson narrating it's hard to go wrong.
I would defiantly listen to again. After listening to Desperate Housewives of Olympus, I had to listen to Desperate Housewives of Avalon. Seems like gods and goddess like to mix things up with all kinds of beings. Lots of laughs and what I enjoy about this author is she makes each character learn something about themselves and the world they live in.
Hollie Jackson is a fantastic narrator. I've listened to her narrate many books over the years. She's great with various voices and emotional expressions. When I saw that she was narrating this series I knew it would be well read.
Lots of laughs and some emotions about the feeling of the characters dealing with difficult situations. However it seems the author wants things to be a learning experience for the characters and in the end things seem to work out.
Really looking forward to the next book in the series. As long as the humor and characters can grow it will prove to be exciting and fun.
First I have to say I listened to "Ride of the Darkyrie" which was an amazing par-normal novel. Since I enjoy Hollie Jackson's narrations on many books I had a feeling these would be exceptional. I wasn't wrong. Desperate Housewives of Olympus was FUNNY, Thought provoking, and really put a spin on those crazy Olympians. I think those goddess were really just waiting for a chance to push their way past those bossy gods.......
Can't really compare to another book but maybe another author. A cross between Molly Harper and Charlaine Harris. If you enjoy either of these authors I think you'll enjoy Saranna DeWylde.
One of my favorites and there are many, is when Abstinence is first visited by Zeus. I laughed out loud.
Lots of catharsis for many of the characters and many laughs as well.I like the fact that the characters do actually learn something about themselves and maybe grow a bit.
I'm looking forward to listening to more of these stories. Saranna DeWylde has a flair for writing humor and story lines that really are quite useful when you realize even the "gods" have relationship problems.
I love good paranormal novels, I took a chance on this one from the reviews and I happen to love the narrator. So glad I got the book. Really did some dark and some funny moments in the story but never stopped action for a single moment. Saranna DeWylde really pulled this off beautifully. Some of the villains are not really villains.......or just o the edge, the good guys aren't always good. So many twists and turns made the story very enjoyable.
When Brynn discovers who The Capri Killer really is and what she has to do to get him.
This book had lots of BLACK HUMOR, and some very dark paranormal things that can make some people cringe. However the story was fast paced and you really get to like the kick butt heroine.
I hope a second book about Brynn comes out. I think it could be a great series.
I couldn't sum up in three words, it was that enjoyable on a topic that many wouldn't touch.
There were many memorable moments, one one Claire realizes men do like big women, you don't have to be a size 4 to be loved and desired. Being a size 26 can do just as nicely and in this story Claire learns who she is and gets to be the woman she was meant to be.
Hollie Jackson was wonderful with all characters and emotions. I've heard her do other narrations and she was perfect for this story.
Overweight are always made to feel badly about themselves, especially women. Not everyone can be a size 6, nor can 5' 7". What this story tells you that labels really stink. Once you start, it's hard to stop. You never see the individual's personality only the label. So many relationships are lost because people can't see beyond stigma. This was a great story that touches on something in our society that should be addressed. No one should be made to feel badly for things they may not be able to help.
I think this will be a great series, if they keep Ms Jackson as narrator, and depending on which labels they start to break down it will be exciting as well.
It was very different from the other stories, the line was very active and fast. Non-stop action from start to finish.
Lauren Fortgang is one of my favorite narrators, she's fantastic with different voices even men. She's also great with emotions. I've listened to her narrations in other books by other authors.
Several, especially the end which is a real twist. (fans will love it)
I've listened to every book in the series and only one (book 6) I didn't enjoy. because of Detective Donovan Caine, who was so pompous it made the story annoying. (glad he's not in any of the stories anymore)
