You just have to let yourself go with this, the humor is there, and Moore plays on as many clenches and word plays where I found I did laugh out loud in parts. Moore is not for everyone. I have read "Lamb" as well and loved it.

What made the experience of listening to Night Broken the most enjoyable?

I always enjoy Mercy Thompson, and I enjoyed this as well. Adam's ex-wife Christy was a real pain in the butt, what got me is so many of the "Pack" fell for her line of BS.What's wrong with these wolves? Shouldn't they have loyalty to their ALPHA and his NEW MATE. (After all Christy never had anything nice to say about the werewolves or the pack. So having them stick up for her over Mercy at times really annoyed me, but as usual Mercy comes out on top, by being way cooler than the EX-WIFE.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mercy and I always Love Coyote.

    Any additional comments?

Great series Patrica Briggs really knows her stuff.

Fifteen Montana cowboys and 500 longhorns are embarking on a one-of-a-kind Wild West adventure: a cattle drive across 1,000 miles of Siberia. The clash of cultures between East and West, American six shooter and Russian saber, begins immediately when a band of Cossacks arrives to escort them to their destination. Cowboys and Cossacks must work together or they’ll never survive the journey, which includes a meeting with the warrior Genghis Kharlagawl and his army of bloodthirsty Tartars.

Would you listen to The Cowboy and the Cossack again? Why?

This was very different than the normal "Cowboy" genre, because you're taking the cowboy and putting them in a very different element than what they are used to. Making the cowboy interact with Russia of the Czar and the perceptions of those American Cowboys being really6 put to the test.

What other book might you compare The Cowboy and the Cossack to and why?

I've never really read any Western or Cowboy literature, so I can't compare to that. I can say it can compare to any genre where you are put in an element totally foreign to what an individual is used to, and trying to adapt. It can be a struggle and a learning experience.

What about Phil Gigante’s performance did you like?

Phil Gigante is one of my favorite narrators, and he's the reason I got this book. He did a great job with accents and emotions and conveying, some really horrid circumstances that happen through out this story.

Who was the most memorable character of The Cowboy and the Cossack and why?

SPOILER ALERT: When the two men who bought the Cowboys and Cossacks drinks at the local bar were hanged. It really was a surprise to me, and the Cowboys as well. They truly learn about the Czars laws of retaliation.

    Any additional comments?

I know Phil Gigante made this book work for me, I don't know if another narrator could have pulled it off as well. (although I have many favorites, maybe Bronson Pinchot , would have done as well) I may never get involved with this genre again but I know I will listen to this story again, because it became a learning experience for the "Free Cossacks" and The Cowboys of the USA. I know I must have missed some things during my first listen, so when I have the time I know I'll enjoy listening to again.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The story was very VERY VANILLA. It was cute and quirky love story. The narrators got me through this story.. They are very talented and made it work, even though the story line really was weak.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

There were two, first that Heather decider to do something a bit different to make herself more attractive to men......and so it worked. ( but she worried about it) second that Tony really cared for Heather, SPOILER.....even giving up his job to give her a chance to improve her job.

Could you see Vanilla on Top being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    No

    Any additional comments?

Not really, I don't understand all the great reviews this got, maybe because of the narrators. But if I had read the book and not listened I never would have finished the story.

Where does Disenchanted rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

As far as books that made me laugh, it was up there. "Fool" by Christopher Moore and the "Jane Jameson series by Molly Harper Also several others by Christopher Moore "Lamb" "Blood Sucking Fiends" "You Suck" and "Bite Me" These I've listened to several times each and always made me laugh. I put this one up there and I know I'll listen to several times as when

Who was your favorite character and why?

All the characters but Boric our main man can not be denied, has some of the best delivery lines in this story. Some came so unexpectedly I found my family just staring at me at times.

Have you listened to any of Phil Gigante’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Phil Gigante is one of my favorite narrators. When I see him as a narrator I always make sure I read as much about the book as possible. I find if you have a great narrator, even if the story is only a 3 1/2 star the narrator can pull it up to at least a 4 to 4 1/2. I think many would agree with me on that.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I so wanted to, but finally had to get some sleep......but I did finish in a 36 hour period. :)

    Any additional comments?

What I loved about this it was a single book not a series. So many authors are writing series. and by the time you get to the 5 or 6th book the story line is played out. There are a few where that didn't happen but in most cases I feel like it's a run-on sentence. Also many books start out as a trilogy and next thing you know there are 8 books.....WHY? What ever happened to a beginning a middle and an end. Let me just throw something out there "WHEEL OF TIME" I stopped when Mr Jordan died. I hope George R. R. Martin will call it quits in a while. I'm just glad this was a single book. I totally enjoyed all of it. Well worth the price.

You define life or it defines you. In Shawn Speakman’s case, it was both. Lacking health insurance and diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2011, Shawn quickly accrued a massive medical debt that he did not have the ability to pay. That’s when New York Times best-selling author Terry Brooks offered to donate a short story that Shawn could sell to help alleviate those bills—and suggested he ask the same of his other writer friends. Unfettered is the result: An anthology built in order to relieve that debt, featuring short stories by some of the best fantasy writers in the genre.

Would you consider the audio edition of Unfettered to be better than the print version?

I loved the audio version, but the printed version does have extras, IE; Forward, Introduction etc Explaining why the book was put together. Also at the start of each short story there is a note from the author stating why they submitted this story for the collection. (It would have been nice if that was added to each story, but I'm not complaining.) Still a great collection of stories by many writes I know and some I don't.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Out of the 23 stories I have to say I enjoyed most of them the one's I enjoyed most (not in order) are: Imaginary Friends, The Old Scale Game, The Martyr of the Roses,Mud Boy, The Sound of Broken Absolutes,Keeper of Memory, Heaven Is a Wildflower, The Chapel Perilous, All the Girls Love Michael Stein,Strange Rain, Nocturne, Unbowed, River of Souls,The Jester, The Duel, The Unfettered Knight. I just listed MY favorites.

    Any additional comments?

This was put together for a wonderful cause. The authors put together some great stories too. I know I'll listen to again.

The year is 2108, and the North American Commonwealth is bursting at the seams. For welfare rats like Andrew Grayson, there are only two ways out of the crime-ridden and filthy welfare tenements, where you’re restricted to 2,000 calories of badly flavored soy every day. You can hope to win the lottery and draw a ticket on a colony ship settling off-world, or you can join the service. With the colony lottery a pipe dream, Andrew chooses to enlist in the armed forces for a shot at real food, a retirement bonus, and maybe a ticket off Earth.

If you could sum up Terms of Enlistment in three words, what would they be?

I love Luke Daniels narrations, and I saw this book on sale so I figured I'd try it. So glad I did. The writing was fantastic, kept you on the edge of your seat with action. Great character building as well The Narration was perfect, just as I expected it to be with Luke Daniels doing it.

What other book might you compare Terms of Enlistment to and why?

I don't read that much Si-Fi, but reminded me of Heinlein's "Star Ship Troopers" (Just a little)

What about Luke Daniels’s performance did you like?

Luke Daniels is an Awesome narrator, and I have many books narrated by him. I enjoyed every one and have re listened to many of them. The reason I purchased this was it was on sale and I saw Luke Daniels was narrating. One of the best purchases I've made. I also purchased the second book in the series and luckily it was on sale as well.....and it was equally as great, if not better than than the first.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

So many but I think Boot Camp was really pretty good.

    Any additional comments?

Having heard the first two books in this series I'm looking forward to the third one that should be out in early 2015. Great writer with lots of action, and great narrator who knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I'd recommend this audiobook in a second, the story is nonstop action from the start., and one of my favorite narrators, Luke Daniels, who can do male, female, emotions, and various accents fantastically. The reason I purchased this book, was I had purchased the first in the series, which was on sale. When this one became available and was on sale I grabbed it. I thought the first book was awesome, but this one topped it. Looking forward to the third book which is coming out in 2015.

What other book might you compare Lines of Departure to and why?

I don't read much Si-Fi except for Robert Heinlein, and the writing style of Marko Kloos reminded me him a bit. A bit like "Starship Troopers" but very different, in so many ways since that book was written so many years ago.

Which character – as performed by Luke Daniels – was your favorite?

All the characters were done with perfection. I love Luke Daniels, and hope he does the next book in this series. When ever I see him doing narration I try to get that book because he's just that good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I almost did, and I wanted to, the action never stops. The ending is a set up for the next book though just a warning, however if it's as good as book 1 and this one it will be awesome. I'm just wondering how many books Kloos plans to have in this series.....I find that some series just go on too long. IE: Wheel of Time.

    Any additional comments?

So far Marko Kloos has proven he can write exciting Si-Fi, and if he continues it will be exciting and enjoyable. Especially if Luke Daniels does the narration. Way to go guys.

The only thing that frightens shapeshifter Selene Rhodes more than the full moon is the idea of falling in love. Selene Rhodes has lived her whole life with a terrible secret: not only can she take the form of any animal at will, but once a month the full moon transforms her into a fierce wolf-creature without a human conscience. Managing her condition means living by a strict routine, and more importantly, abstaining from intimate relationships with human beings.

What did you love best about Wild?

The story it's self is a par-normal mystery. However, Selene one of the heroines (who is a shape shifter, for around 30 years) I find it hard to believe she has no clue nor did she ever try to find anyone else like herself since she's computer savvy and highly intelligent. (that whole premise is just screwy) Eve who is the love interest, and a medical examiner for the city is being stalked by a nut job serial killer. Selene in wolf form stops his attack on Eve. Then she goes behind a tree and turns back into her human form and helps Eve. They form an instant attraction. Alexandria Wilde's narration made this story interesting. Without her various voices for each character I don't thing I could have listened to the whole story.

Would you recommend Wild to your friends? Why or why not?

If you enjoy lesbian, paranormal mystery, with excellent narration then yes it may be worth it for you to listen.

Have you listened to any of Alexandria Wilde’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I love Alexandria Wilde and her narration's I've listened to many of her narrations in erotica, and novels, she has a wonderful voice and can do accents, and different genders, as well as express emotion, and passion. One of the best narrators for romance and erotica.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    I wouldn't ........

    Any additional comments?

I just found that with all of Selene's intelligence, and obvious capabilities and access to internet, that she never bothered to try to find others of her kind. Yes she was orphaned, and kicked out from her home but obviously she over came obstacles to get an education and earn a very good living. I can suspend my imagination on a lot of things but some how this part of the story bothered me. Again if it were not for Alexandria Wilde, this story would never have gotten me to the end. I'm not sure if a squeal is planned but at least we have the whole shape shifter thing out in the open......So maybe Selene will help Eve with her forensic work in the future. Who knows. As long as Alexandria Wilde Narrates I'd give it a try.

Charlie really finds out who she is and learns to use her powers. There are some very strange and nasty happenings, however every book in this series has just gotten better and better.

What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?

I've listened to Lorelei King narrate other books and she's great. In this series she is Charlie, and she does all the characters fantastic. You always know who's speaking. I hope she continues to do the voice of Charlie.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed, I was emotional, I enjoyed this book because it really showed how Charlie not only comes into her powers, but never stops being a caring human being.....even though she's really not a human being, as we would define her.

    Any additional comments?

I'm really looking forward to the next book. I hope we don't have to wait to long, but if it's as good as this one and Lorelei King narrates, I know it will be fantastic. Thank you Darynda Jones for your great paranormal series :)
