All the bizarre characters, great paranormal living in this small Texas town.
I don't want to give away a spoiler and it would be if I mentioned it. Charlaine Harris really knows how to develop characters and especially knows how to push the envelope I've listened to several of her series which I've loved. I was disappointed with the ending of the "Sookie Stackhouse" series. However this maybe something we can get out teeth into, and hopefully it will only be a Trilogy like they say. I think she just went too far with Sookie and couldn't end it right.
She was very good with characters and emotions. I really enjoyed her narration
When you find out who killed Aubrey, that really got me. I think everyone will agree with this one.
I hope Ms. Harris won't keep us waiting too long for the next book in this series. I truly enjoyed it.
Cary Elwes and all the cast members adding touches to the background telling of the making of this wonderful film classic. So many moments that were exposed to those who love this film. I laughed out loud at some of the tales told about the making of this film
Each narrator brought their own special touch and special flavor to the story of the making of "The Princess Bride" Stories about those who are no longer alive and what they meant to the cast that survives them.
I won't go there.
If you are a fan of the move "The Princess Bride" as my family has been for over 25 years, this is a must listen. After you've listened to it, watch the movie again with your loved ones.
How Cat and Ian had to work together to save the day.....there were some real funny moments
As usually she did a great job and made the story really roll along.
Looking forward to a real major story from this series......Jeanine Frost can you hear your fans?
Never saw print version
Every one was complaining about her narration. I've listened to her narrate several other books and she did a really good job. After Nadia May who narrates at a slower pace, it does take a while to get used to Ms Duerden. I slowed my audio by 1/4 and it was much more enjoyable for me. The story was good and sometimes you have to let go and get on. I've listened to series where they changed the narrator. If the story is good and the narrator is decent as it was in this case.....get past it people. If you can't change the speed on your portable device, maybe you should look into getting one you can do that with. It realy helps with many Audible stories.
I almost did, listened Friday until the last 7 chapters and did the rest on Saturday.
People should listen to the free listen before they purchase......If I don't know the narrator I always do that. Because I can adjust the speed of the play back I find that many narrators that usually speak to quickly, or have a too high voice if I slow it down by 1/4 it still sounds natural and makes a big difference to the quality of sound.
I'm not going to compare it to any one book but to several series. Alex Bledsoe really knows how to develop characters and dramatic situations. This series though historical reminds me a bit of "Alex Verus" by Benedict Jacka. Even though in different times they are very well developed and have some magic in them
Not all that we think is evil really is, sometimes it's just circumstances I don't want to give it away.
Once again a great narrator with a great story
When Eddie and Liz mess with a guy who was being rough on a young girl.......gotta laugh
PLEASE GIVE ME MORE EDDIE LACROSS.
I never ever heard of a pirate story like this one. Alex Bledsoe really knows how to draw you into the characters and the story.
Stefan Rudniki is a great narrator, I've listened to several series where he narrates and he doesn't disappoint ever
SPOILER..........When Eddie confronts Angie with the truth.
I love this series, there are always great moments some funny some scary, but always action packed. I hope there will be more in this series than five books and I hope Stefan Rudnicki continues to narrate.
It reminded me of when I started Jim Butcher's "Dresden Files" series. Each book in the series got better and better. More outrageous character interactions and twists and turns.
If you crossed "The Night Side" series bye Simon Green and "The Dresden Files" by Jim Butcher, you'd get "Alex Verus" series. can't wait to read book three(3)
*SPOILER........The next to last one with Martin........where his wish backfires on him.
I stayed up all night until I did finish, it was so worth it.
So far Audible has 5 books in this series, I hope there will be more I know I'll really enjoy them if Mr Jacka keeps the story lines as interesting as the first two.
How it touched on so many different stories and authors, and how Bombo and Alistair interacted. It was laugh out loud funny at times.
There were several but the first that really got me was when Alistair was going to give Bombo mouth to mouth to revive him from drowning........
No I haven't listened to Robert Rossmann before but he was wonderful and did a fantastic job with the voices and emotions.
There were so many laugh out loud moments in this book I just can't pick one. This is a NEW FAVORITE FOR ME.
I know I will listen to many more times because of the enjoyment this book gave to me. I recommend this to anyone who loves literature, and enjoys laughing.
Violence against women is becoming a regular theme, and as the series progresses it seems to intensify. I enjoyed the first few books in the series, but now it seems that there is so much misogynist violence on a regular basis. I wasn't crazy about this one. nor Ash and Janvier just didn't do it for me.
Can't this series is unto it's self. The only other series I enjoyed about angels and it had a great ending was J.R. Ward's "Fallen Angels" Not many series have great endings "Fallen Angels" did.
Not really I felt she didn't have it for the Cajun accent, She did ok on others but you really need flair for the Cajun "Patwa" (listen to Jane Yellowrock series)
To tell the author to find another topic besides beating up and killing women.
I hope that this series turns around I enjoyed the first 5 books and the 6th was ok, but it's time to get off beating and killing woman for sport.......Try something else, like trying to help humans more.
Nightside + Dresden + Alex Verus
Alex, but really enjoyed Luna and Arachnid....Very different than characters in other series, yet very enjoyable.
There were many but one of the best was when Alex takes Luna to see Arachnid for the first time.
Just like the Simon Green's Night Side series and Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden, you just want to eat it all up in one sitting. From reading reviews of the next books in the series they seem to get better just like Dresden and Nightside. Can't wait to take the next bite.
I Already purchased book 2, it was on sale......Can't wait to see what happens next.
