For anyone wondering why they are always worn out emotionally and feel the need to "make everyone better and fix everything." This is the book for you. Although Beattie focuses on alcoholism, Codepencency is about more than having an alcoholic spouse. Codependency is about how you cope with dysfunctional relationships where one individual carries the load and doesn't allow the other to face their responsibilities. Excellent listen! Excellent Read as I bought the hard copy as well.
I don't regret getting this book, it was a lovely summer read. The writing is repetitive, non-inspiring. The love making/sex scenes - yeah, they're pretty hot and descriptive. I don't usually listen to Fiction so this was a first for me. Took a bit to get used to the narrator, Becca Battoe, by the third book I think I managed it, but then by the third book I was becoming bored even with the sex scenes!
Predictable on all levels. But if you enjoy the Harlequin Romance type books, you'll love it.
I already knew what to expect from this story and was not disappointed. A wonderful reminder of how important self love is and how important it is to be who you are.
This book is so much more than just a weight loss book. It challenges you to look inside yourself for the answers that are there. Weight isn't about food. Food is not the enemy, we are our own enemies by avoiding what we feel and what we don't want to feel. I would highly recommend this book to anyone - it isn't about weight loss, it's about finding your true self and honouring you.
A good listen. A little monotone at times, but the messages are clear and easy to follow.
