This an OK read. Kinda cute, kinda cozy. I'm sure I would not have finished this in print. It's really a 2.5 star but I'm sweet & always round up. I'll try something else of hers someday. Maybe even another Devereaux Dime Store Mystery!
TOTALLY disappointing after the long wait for this book.I don't know why GS bothered writing it. It reads like she phoned it in. Plus the narrative was AWFUL.
Angela Dawe ruins this book. I have other books with her as narrator that are fine. This one is really bad!
Enchanting, Entertaining, Everything a fairytale should be.
Gabra Zackman read it to me as fairytales should be read.
I can't wait for her to read the next one to me.
For 9:16:26 I was glued to my iPod. Although a mindless activity had been planned to do while reading this book it was quickly abandoned. I don't think I'd have read it straight through in print & I'll never be able to read it in print at all now. All the planet's must have been perfectly aligned to bring this book, this narrator, this director & production team together in the Brilliance Studio in 1985. I just (bleeping) loved it!
Most everything about it will appeal to Tween girls & the narrator is perfect for that audience.
I didn't expect to like this as much as I did. I chose it for the author. This is a provocative & controversial work which many will find offensive. I read this straight through & was glad I did. It is intense, sensual, & sexual yet there are no explicitly erotic scenes. As far as category, it's kind of Forbidden Romance.
This is a charming book. Both a light read & a good mystery. I didn't guess the identity of the fiend until the end & that's always a good thing. The story is set in 1930's London which is a plus to me as I'm a sucker for an English mystery. I really enjoyed Kellren's narration.
VERY good. Justine O'Keefe did a good job with narration. I shall indeed read the series, but at my age I'd better space them out!
I am not a fan of Nora Roberts. But I loved her Seven Signs paranormal trilogy so I read Dark Witch & loved it too. Kellgren's narration seemed a bit much in the 1st couple chapters. But as more characters entered she kinda grew on me & I really loved it. I'm looking forward to Shadow Spell & I hope Kellgren is the narrator.
OK, this is really a 3.5 star book.
I liked it, enjoyed it & want more.
BUT it's not really that good of a book that it should have kept me up reading straight thru; but it did. I couldn't stop.
I'll probably read it again.
tis a puzzlement
