The Tibetan Buddhist tradition carries carries exotic tales about fearless female "sky dancers" or "wisdom dakinis" who dance in limitless space and act as messengers, guides, and protectors. These five dakinis manifest the feminine wisdom energy, bringing strength, power, and transformation to our lives.

Had I known this was going to be a book of basic Hindu chanting I would NEVER have purchased it. The title is extremely misleading. I was looking for information not about Mandalas not goddesses and or how to chant. SOME interesting information may be able to be found in the book so far I have found none so I can't even listen anymore but the author is the reader, her monotone non emotional reading is nothing short or annoying. If the book had been read by another it may have some redeeming quality but I can't get through a book that is read so slow and with so many repeated phrases if I could silence the person and find out if there is anything redeeming about it, I may continue to listen but not having the words on this is annoying.
WHY CANT AUDIBLE BOOKS HAVE THE CHOICE TO READ ALONG OR JUST LISTEN??? This way rather than continue to listen we could scan the chapters and decide if anything may be worth listening to.
Some people had good things to say about the book. So either they were expecting what is in it or they find it helpful. I find it not worthy of my time and especially my money. All I wanted to do was turn it off. I am close to deleting it all together. But will wait and see if I need to understand any of the information the book MAY have, that I need for school if not if will be deleted from my library. I choose to turn it off and feel my money was entirely wasted. at this point.

Whether or not one has lived an exceptional or dramatic life, we inherently understand that writing memoir—whether it’s a book, blog, or just a letter to a child - is the single greatest portal to self-examination. Stop treading water in writing exercises or hiding behind “writer’s block” and learn how to write with intent. Marion Roach Smith’s disarmingly frank but wildly fun tactics offer you simple and effective guidelines that work. Your legacy beings now.

I felt as if this were having a conversation of sorts. I learned a lot about her, (although not full stories) while learning how to write a GREAT memoir. So while not getting to enjoy some of her tales she still manages to give you the entire story. But this is this purpose of how she teaches you to write. And what venue you are writing for, is what decides how much of what goes into what things you write as you may often tell the same story more than once for different purposes. This book teaches you how hot to be boring. She speaks fast and yet it is so conversationally teaching that for me it will take a few listens to get the lessons out of the GREAT writing. The instructional parts are also quite good.

Trudy, a college history professor, is collecting oral histories from World War II survivors (both German and Jewish). Her mother, Anna, refuses to talk to her, but Anna's story is revealed in flashback. She conducted an affair with a Jewish baker who was summarily killed. Afterward, Anna caught the eye of a high-ranking Nazi officer.

This is probably one of my favorite books about the holocaust. What do they have to tell a child? This blank space in their hearts does not go away and they do not know how to make it easy to remissness about them. The grips of which knows no comfort in the truth. Many do not allow them to know anything. Its confusing to them still and they do not want to frighten their loved ones. If unable to tell their own loved ones who even their parents were, that is a lot of pain to just swallow, as many of them did. If it is our parent who was forced to live such unspoken pain yet they see their children, with their friends and cousins who all know their entire families, all about their aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents on both sides, is truly unbearable. They feel ashamed, they wonder and can only imagine fictional stories about them. To think that this would not affect the survivors or their offspring is quite arrogant. Making statements like those I have read here that people could not bare that of the daughters angst at this fate; must be living under a rock. The holocaust is real. I feel sorry for you. We have holes in our hearts of the missing parts yet we must never forget.
