Sphere by Michael Crichton is one of my all time favorite books. This book managed to remind me of everything I loved about Sphere, without being a rehash of the same old stuff. It was interesting and intense, and kept me guessing until the end. Usually I have it all figured out well before the end of the book, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

I love this type of book, however I just couldn't get into this one. I don't know if its the recording or some issue with my playback, but there were what seemed like very poorly placed pauses. The pausing made the audio feel choppy and hard to follow. The narrator's ever changing accent was distracting as well, some words were pronounced with a Canadian accent, other times she seemed to be trying for a Southern accent. These distractions coupled with the slow movement of the plot made this a hard listen for me.
