One would think the last place a beauty like Fallon O'Rourke could keep her virtue was in the Mayfair mansion of London's most licentious duke, the notorious Dominic Hale. Yet Fallon - who's endured nothing but lecherous advances since her father's tragic death - is perfectly safe there...disguised as a footman! Beneath the notice of the dark-haired devil with his smoldering blue eyes and sinful smile, Fallon never imagines her secret will be discovered. But how long can her deception last?

Hmmm...I like my romances with lot's of suprise turns and a little passion mixed in. By all the summeries this book fit the bill. I found it fell a bit flat. It was an uncomfortable read with impossible ups and downs and while the ending was predictable, not really plausible.

Miranda Ellis is a woman tormented. Plagued since birth by a strange and powerful gift, she has spent her entire life struggling to control her exceptional abilities. Yet one innocent but irreversible mistake has left her family's fortune decimated and forced her to wed London's most nefarious nobleman. Lord Benjamin Archer is no ordinary man. Doomed to hide his disfigured face behind masks, Archer knows it's selfish to take Miranda as his bride. Yet he can't help being drawn to the flame-haired beauty whose touch sparks a passion he hasn't felt in a lifetime.

Jennifer says: "What's behind the mask?"
    "...long to warm up..."

This was like reading in the dark. I hoped by reading the first book in the series it would build the premise of the magic of the series. I felt that it was just assumed in many instances that the reader understood the authors ideas. By the end of the book I think I understood the storyline, but it would have made more interesting reading if we had more of the characters powers of magic up front. I felt the whole story was out of rhythm, written maybe as a form book without a clear vision from the author. Possibly the next books ripen, but I am waiting for the reviews before I invest.

It's not easy being the Queen of Broken Hearts. While Clare has no problem helping the hundreds of men and women who seek her advice to mend their broken hearts, healing her own is another matter entirely. But falling in love again is the last thing she wants.

I enjoyed this story. It's not your typical romance, a relief maybe after reading to many. If your looking for a perspective of a romance after your average romantic age with all the baggage of age this is a really interesting read.
