This is the story of Despereaux Tilling, a mouse in love with music, stories, and a princess named Pea. It is also the story of a rat called Roscuro, who lives in darkness but covets a world filled with light. And it is the story of Miggery Sow, a slow-witted serving girl with a simple, impossible wish. These characters are about to embark on a journey that will lead them down into a horrible dungeon, up into a glittering castle, and ultimately, into each other's lives.

Kimberly says: "A fabulous family adventure!"
    "Wonderful to listen to!"

I loved listening to this! The narrator for this book was absolutely wonderful to listen to, and the story was great. The narrator was amazing at giving every character their own distinct voice. Very enjoyable.

Miles Vorkosigan makes his debut in this frenetic coming-of-age tale. At age 17, Miles is allowed to take the entrance exams to the elite military academy; he passes the written but manages, through miscalculation in a moment of anger, to break both his legs on the obstacle course, washing out before he begins. His aged grandfather dies in his sleep shortly after, for which Miles blames himself.

Had no idea what to expect, could not even recall why I downloaded it, but very glad I did. I didn't want my trip to end, I find the book and the narration so engrossing! Thanks so much for another great Audible experience! I'm hooked - I will now have to pick up all the rest of the titles in the series!

Dick Young stays in his friend Professor Magnus Lane's house in Cornwall, on the understanding he will be a guinea-pig for a new drug that Magnus has developed. As a result of the experiment he is transported back to fourteenth century Cornwall.

Shanna says: "Too much left out! I miss theUNABRIDGED Version!"
    "Excellent!"

After a slightly slow start, I found myself drawn into this audiobook much in the same way that the Dick Young is drawn into what may be a gap in time. An old college friend persuades him to try an experimental drug and he becomes quickly becomes drawn into a medieval mystery from the past. This audiobook is mesmerizing and was particularly enjoyable while making a long holiday car trip.
