Thirty-two-year-old actor Stephen C. McQueen (no, not that Steve McQueen) is waiting for his big break. His only screen credits so far are playing dead bodies on cop and doctor shows. At the moment, he's paying the rent by understudying hot movie star Josh Harper, who's trying to gain dramatic credibility in a West End play. If only Josh would miss a performance, Stephen-with-a-P-H could prove his talent and redeem himself in the eyes of his disapproving ex-wife and their precocious seven-year-old daughter.

    "a good light read"
    Overall

This is one of those books that was meant to be heard not read. The reader was excellent, it is funny, entertaining, light. Its not a thinker, not teribly deep, just very funny and very enjoyable.

The planet Lusitania is home to three sentient species: a large colony of humans; the Pequeninos; and the Hive Queen, who was brought there by Ender Wiggin. Once again, the enemy (the Starways Congress) has gathered a fleet and is threatening to destroy Lusitania. Ender's oldest friend, Jane, an evolved computer intelligence, is trying to save the three sentient species of Lusitania, but the Starways Congress is destroying the computer world she lives in.

I have read all of the books in the enders series, i absolutly love them all, except this one. i not only didn't like it, i lost respect for Mr. Card it was so harsh. This book could be called kicking a dead horse as far a i am concered. You know how a high school drama series needs to end when the graduate from high school, and they don't end it and it goes down hill? Thats is exactly what this book is. Its stretching material past the point of it working. I feel it shouldn't have been written.

Andrew "Ender" Wiggin was not the only child in the Battle School; he was just the best of the best. In this book, Card tells the story of another of those precocious generals, the one they called Bean, the one who became Ender's right hand, part of his team, in the final battle against the Buggers. Bean's past was a battle just to survive. His success brought him to the attention of the Battle School's recruiters.

    Overall

Its ironic, i know this whole series started with ender, but i like the books about bean better. I have read every book in the ender series, and this is one of my favs. I actually like it better than enders game. I would recomend reading enders game first if you havn't already.

Bean, once the smallest student at the Battle School, and Ender Wiggin's right hand, has grown to be a power on Earth. He served the Hegemon as strategist and general in the terrible wars that followed Ender's defeat of the alien empire attacking Earth. Now he wishes for a safe place to build a family, something he has never known, but there is nowhere on Earth that does not harbor his enemies; old enemies from the days in Ender's Jeesh, new enemies from the wars on Earth.

i thought the hole ender plot had to run dry sooner than later, so i had low expectations for this book, i was wrong. its one of my fav in the series. it is much more on the political side then the others, but i liked that. very inteligent. i listened to it twice in one month just to make sure that i got in all the details. and i will probibly listen to it again. the naration is very well done as well.
