The production values and sound quality is simply subpar. Very frustrating experience. Would NOT recommend.
I would have made it a full length story instead of (presumably) cutting it in half to make two sales from one piece of merchandise. The previous book in the series began this trend, which sunk to a new low with this installment. Prior to this McCammon, was doing an exemplary job in creating a fascinating series of well-researched historical novels with deep characterizations and well-developed plots. Not this one.
He continues to mature and develop. Very good job, perhaps his best performance to date.
It clearly is little more than half a book and deliberately incomplete.
I had come to expect much better from Mr. McCammon and hope he gets his priorities back in order and delivers what he has proven capable of in his first three books in this series.
The poor audio quality of the recording itself, possibly compounded by the author's tendency to soften his voice mimicking the lilting Gaelic accent of the main protagonist. I bailed out in frustration after about an hour.
never got that far
