Adam One, the kindly leader of the God's Gardeners - a religion devoted to the melding of science and religion, the preservation of all species and the tending of the Earth - has long predicted the Waterless Flood. Now it has occurred, obliterating most human life. Two women have avoided it: the young trapeze-dancer, Ren, locked into the high-end sex club; and former SecretBurgers meat-slinger turned Gardener, Toby, barricaded into a luxurious spa. Have others survived?

    Jennifer says: "Strange and ponderous"
    "Poetic without pace"
    Overall

This story was quite poetic and literary. I could appreciate the style of writing, with its many beautiful descriptive passages. I ENVY the writing style. The characters were tragically flawed in a brilliant way. But. It was just too painfully slow moving for me. I did not get through it all and dropped it three quarters of the way. By then, I just didn't care anymore if the world ended or not.

When we last left the mighty wizard detective Harry Dresden, he wasn't doing well. In fact, he had been murdered by an unknown assassin. But being dead doesn't stop him when his friends are in danger. Except now he has nobody, and no magic to help him. And there are also several dark spirits roaming the Chicago shadows who owe Harry some payback of their own. To save his friends - and his own soul - Harry will have to pull off the ultimate trick without any magic....

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Love the books, but struggled with the sudden change in narrator.

Did John Glover do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Really, there was nothing wrong with this narrator, except he was Not-JamesMarsters and therefore, not Dresden. I tried telling myself that afterlife Dresden would have a different voice box. I fooled myself for a while. I'm very sorry Mr Glover, it just wasn't the throaty noir voice I was expecting.

    Any additional comments?

If it were me, I'd get this book re-done with the iconic narrator the fans want. But I can forgive this sway from my expectations... just this once. Once Butcher, once.

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning-author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

If you could sum up The Fault in Our Stars in three words, what would they be?

    Beautiful, funny, heart-wrenching

What does Kate Rudd bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Captures the voice perfectly. Listen seamlessly to the story and forget it's being read to you.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

You expect the sad moments, then they catch you buy surprise.

    Any additional comments?

I was nagged by my teen daughter to read this. She tried to explain it was a YA novel about love and death, I though 'ugh'. I eventually gave it a try and fell in love... and had my heartbroken... and was so happy to have had the chance to get my heartbroken.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This book was an okay mystery, but I'd heard so much about the author that I expected more. I found it a little dull. I've loved Agatha Christie and thought this might be similar. However, there were some amusing moments in the story.

Would you be willing to try another book from Dorothy L. Sayers? Why or why not?

I'll try another one to see if maybe this was just one I couldn't connect with.

This is Part One of Book 1 of the A Song of Ice and Fire Series. This first volume in the hugely popular and highly acclaimed epic fantasy series A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE is unabridged and split into two parts. Now a major Sky Atlantic TV series from HBO, starring Sean Bean. Summers span decades. Winter can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun.

Would you consider the audio edition of A Game of Thrones (Part One) to be better than the print version?

This is one story where I think I'd like to also read the print version, but thoroughly enjoyed the audio.

Who was your favorite character and why?

How could you pick one favourite character? The novel delves so deeply into each character, they are well rounded and all have flaws and strengths. I wavered between loving and hating every single character. The dwarf was especially endearing.

Have you listened to any of Roy Dotrice’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Wonderful reader. I've listened to a lot of audiobooks and the reader can easily distract or ruin a book. This reader has a wonderful voice for fantasy and epic tales and depicted the characters well.

Benson Fisher thought that a scholarship to Maxfield Academy would be the ticket out of his dead-end life. He was wrong. Now he’s trapped in a school that’s surrounded by a razor-wire fence. A school where video cameras monitor his every move. Where there are no adults. Where the kids have split into groups in order to survive. Where breaking the rules equals death. But when Benson stumbles upon the school’s real secret, he realizes that playing by the rules could spell a fate worse than death, and that escape - his only real hope for survival - may be impossible.

What did you like best about Variant? What did you like least?

Story begins straight away. Good pace. Wasn't wrapped in the ending, and the main character seems only motivated by self-preservation. Premise is good though.

Would you recommend Variant to your friends? Why or why not?

I'd recommend it to reluctant readers, has a Percy Jackson feel to it (without the gods).

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Teddy says: "The Book Deserves The Hype"
    "Wrong Voice"
    Overall

Story is great, but the reader articulates it so slowly and without the emotional range, that it sounds like a Margaret Attwood literary novel. The narrator's pitch and formalilty slows the narrative down.

Hiccup was a truly extraordinary Viking Hero, Warrior chieftain, awesome sword-fighter and amateur naturalist. He was known throughout Vikingdom as 'the Dragon Whisperer' on account of his power over these terrifying beasts. But it wasn't always like that.
