I love to listen and read books. I don't waste a minute...I listen when I am driving, cleaning, getting my nails done, etc. Fiction books are my favorites.... mysteries.

It Worked for Me is filled with vivid experiences and lessons learned that have shaped the legendary career of the four-star general and former Secretary of State Colin Powell. At its heart are Powell's "Thirteen Rules" - such as "Get mad, then get over it" and "Share credit" - that introduce his principles for effective leadership: conviction, hard work, and, above all, respect for others. A natural storyteller, Powell offers warm and engaging parables with wise advice on succeeding in the workplace and beyond.

If you have a son, daughter, friend or colleague who is working or in a management or leadership role, Powell's words of his experiences are well worth listening to. He confirms some of the good things you have seen, and he offers tidbits you can use as a leader or follower. They are not individual snippits of leadership behaviors....they are snippits all tied together. I love the way he wrapped them around actual situations.

What made the experience of listening to The Innocent the most enjoyable?

The story was typical Baldacci: Intriguing, suspenseful, complex and it moved. I love the new character(s). I look forward to more.

Which character – as performed by Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy – was your favorite?

    I liked:
    Roby: A Balducci character
Julie: Hope he keeps her in the stories
Vance: She was straight and tough

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

That's unrealistic, but I walk 5 miles every morning and this motivated me to get out there.I have the books in my GPS so I listen to it every time I walk and every time get in the car...even if it is a short run to the grocery store.

    Any additional comments?

    Loved the book

What made the experience of listening to Zero Day the most enjoyable?

The story was complex; the situation was current and believable and the performances were outsianding.

Who was your favorite character and why?

No favorite character. Their roles were all so importat and well described. Loved the main character and the relationship he had with his brother.. The female local cop was great..... It all fit together very well.

What about Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy ’s performance did you like?

They read it so well, I didn't want to stop listening. Good for them that they had such a good book to read....but good for David that he had two readers who made his book come alive.
    Read it...you'll see.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I am not good at that kind of thing.....

    Any additional comments?

I listened to this on my 5-mile daily walks and in the car and while washing dishes.... I cpldn't wait to get up in the morning to start my walk....just so I could listen.Good bood...good readers

Would you listen to No Rest for the Dead again? Why?

Yes. I could relax and hear parts that I missed because I was anticipating. However, I didn't like the ending, so maybe I wouldn't.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The person who was executed. She was a good person

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Time. I listen to the books when I do my 5 mile walk in the morning and when I am driving and when I am washing dishes.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    No

    Any additional comments?

I thought passing it off to different authors was masterful. Did they end it the way it was outlined or did each take it where they wanted and the next person had to pick it up from there? Interesting...but I didn't like the ending. Too easy. I would have put a twist on it and had her come back...meaning she was never executed.

This was awful. I never finished it and I rarely put a book down. It was sooooo slow. It took 10 minutes of nonsense description for a person to enter a room and sit down. There were times I forgot why the person went somewhere because the minusha was so unnecessarially detailed that I got frustrated waiting for something to happen. I have no idea how it ended or what happened....I barely got past the middle of part I. Don't bother with this one. It was terrible. (At least the part I read was terrible)

And it is one only Gabriel can solve.

It was captivating. I almost believed there was a Rembrandt out there. The story was really held your interest, and it was believable. Great job. I usually listen to my books in the mornings when I am taking my 5 mile walk. I found myself not being able to wait till the next morning... I had to listen as I worked around the house. The narriator, (Phil Gigante) was excellent as well. Bottom line.... I really enjoyed the book.
