"I did not know that..."
We should all understand the modes of thinking, this is a good explanation of how we think and a little bit of why.
The eye opener for me was why brain storming seems like a wast of time. I always felt like it was going no were fast, it also explain why I feel the need to be argumentative, I always used the excuse that I want to understand the problem... I thought I was just being uncooperative, as it turns out I was just trying to be creative.
A good reader can help you understand the what is meant by what is written. The inflections are spot on.
How "just do it" came to be. That is a wow moment, clearly used as an example of a remote connection. I want spoil it.
I did not think this book was going to be that good, so I was delighted to find that John has done a great job.
"It’s ok to believe in illusions"
Hood is a great writer I highly recommend the ride into the exploration of the illusion of self. Even if you are well vs in the subject you will find Hood's treatment of the social aspects of self thought provoking, Hood even puts an interesting spin on gender biases, beyond testosterone and estrogen.
The Brain, it is after all your reality generator.
Sounds Great at 2x
No. Your bound to want to reflect. Even coming back to it in a few days is a good idea
You own it to yourself to listen to this book
"Wow Great story writer."
I think it's a lot of fun, and you learn a lot about the industry, and it's history.
Rob is a great study of human charter, and he explains people with simple depth. In short he humanizes people.
When Rob Meets Martin Sheen for the first time.
His explanation of why his Pictures got on the cover of George.
interesting side note: With Rob's Hight praise of west Wing, I decided to watch it for the first time. I was kind of surprised to realizes that robs charter is just not that compelling, vary like-able, but really is not all that... but then again... is it because I feel I understand him, kinda like a friend, and I am hyper critical of him now.
"Stands the Test of Time."
If you have read Dawkins lastest works, you might question the point of reading one of his earlier works as I did. But Dawkins is writing in a freer less self critical way,and it makes it fun.
Natural Selection.
I have a mixed feeling about this.
If you understand the subject yes. I tend to listen at 2x to 3x. This book is diffidently a 2x book.
