Immediately after hearing these words, uttered to her by an old Romanian woman bleeding to death in the street, detective Eve Dallas begins to notice that her latest case has come with a number of interesting side-effects: visions of the deceased, instant familiarity with rooms she’s never seen before, and fluency in Russian.

Her career in homicide has taken her into the darkest depths of New York City’s underground - and sometimes Lieutenant Eve Dallas feels more comfortable in those kinds of places than in the high-rise, high-society world of her billionaire husband, Roarke. But while she’s no party girl, she’s managing to have a reasonably good time at the celebrity-packed bash celebrating the debut of The Icove Agenda. This time it’s Eve, not Roarke, who’s a guest of honor, since the film is based on one of her famous cases. Her partner, Peabody, is practically giddy....

Gail Carriger created a fascinating steampunk vision of Victorian England in her “intoxicatingly witty” (Publishers Weekly, starred review) debut novel Soulless—the first in the best-selling Parasol Protectorate series. Changeless is the second in the series and finds Alexia Tarabotti, now the Lady Woolsey, quite put out after her werewolf husband goes missing. So, armed with her trusty parasol, Alexia boards a dirigible and heads for Scotland to find him.

Gail Carriger has created a wholly enjoyable series! Alexia and her whole cast of friends are very entertaining. I am an Amelia Peabody fan and, after reading Soulless, have concluded the Alexia and Amelia are definitely cut from the same, very proper, English cloth! Alexia just has the added twist of battling supernatural creatures along with her mysteries. :) I HIGHLY recommend this whole series! Emily Gray does a fantastic job of portraying the characters. This is a wonderful listen!

Marguerite Gavin is a fantastic narrator and is a definite plus for Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan series.

Generations of werewolves have been secretly residing in a secluded valley a stones throw from Grundy, Alaska. So when a snooping Outsider comes to Grundy to investigate rumors of lycanthropic shenanigans in the area, the valleys pack alpha, Maggie Graham, resolves to chase him away, even if doing so takes a quick bite on the butt. What a pity that researcher Nick Thatcher turns out to be so drool-worthy, and that his kisses make Maggie want to sit up and beg.

Paranormal private eye. Grim reaper extraordinaire. Whatever. Charley Davidson is back in Darynda Jones' Third Grave Dead Ahead! And she’s drinking copious amounts of caffeine to stay awake because, every time she closes her eyes, she sees him: Reyes Farrow, the parthuman, part-supermodel son of Satan. Yes, she did imprison him for all eternity, but come on.

Charley is such a likeable character and her interaction with her friends makes this series a fun read. Darynda Jones tells a wonderful story!! This is like a supernatural Stephanie Plum! Can't wait to read more about Charley and her new Guardian - should be fun! As audiobook lovers know, a narrator can make or break an audiobook - Lorelei King is one of the best - and she does a FANTASTIC job with this series, as always. Can't wait for more Charley Davidson!

New York Times best-selling author Richelle Mead returns to the Otherworld, a mystic land inextricably linked to our own--and balanced precariously on one woman's desperate courage. Shaman-for-hire Eugenie Markham strives to keep the mortal realm safe from trespassing entities. But as the Thorn Land's prophecy-haunted queen, there's no refuge for her and her soon-to-be-born-children when a mysterious blight begins to devastate the Otherworld....

    Story

I enjoyed this series right up until this book. The beginning is slow and Eugenie was really starting to get on my nerves. (Does this dress make me look fat?) The second half picked up the pace a little. However, the end of a series SHOULD tie up all the loose ends neatly. This did not give a satisfying end. In my opinion the ending of this book suggests the author may be talked into writing more in this series or that she'll pick up a spinoff series from it. For being the main character, Eugenie sure is a whiner. Not sure I'm sorry to see this end. The narrator did a good job with what she had to work with.
