Will Robie may have just made the first - and last - mistake of his career.... It begins with a hit gone wrong. Robie is dispatched to eliminate a target unusually close to home in Washington, D.C. But something about this mission doesn't seem right to Robie, and he does the unthinkable: He refuses to kill. Now, Robie becomes a target himself and must escape from his own people.

Fleeing the scene, Robie crosses paths with a wayward teenage girl, a 14-year-old runaway from a foster home. But she isn't an ordinary runaway....

What did you love best about The Innocent?

The book kept me guessing the entire time until the end.

What did you like best about this story?

This story outlined a real kind of threat any nation could face.

Which character ??? as performed by Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy ??? was your favorite?

    Will Roby

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This was a really good book and I listened to it in multiple parts to try and figure it out on my own.

    Any additional comments?

Looks can be deceiving and this country is faced with threats similar to the one in this book, and it takes strong law enforcement to protect This country.

In this all-new short story from #1 New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci, worlds collide when government assassin Will Robie is caught in the crossfire with Oliver Stone and the Camel Club. Will Robie is closing in on his next target when he finds himself in the middle of a bank heist - and he's taken hostage alongside Oliver Stone. But is this just a simple bank job, or are the robbers after something even more valuable - and dangerous - than the cash in the vault?

My first time reading an authors short story, but I must say I really enjoyed it along with the preview of the next release from David Baldacci named “The Target”.

This short story has made me interested in the Camel Club series with Oliver Stone and his associates.

I have read many books and I have not seen too many authors combine main characters from different series into a book, but I love it because it shows an authors talent and Will Roby and Oliver Stone and his associates worked well together.

When you're the best at what you do, it's not always easy to walk away. Nathan McBride was retired. The trained Marine sniper and covert CIA operative had put the violence of his former life behind him. But not anymore. A deep-cover FBI agent has disappeared along with one ton of powerful Semtex explosive, enough to unleash a disaster of international proportions. The U.S. government has no choice but to coax Nathan out of retirement.

    Story

Nathan Daniel McBride is a sniper with the type of partner anyone in the military or security business would kill for.

Nathan and his partner are out of the military and are running a private security firm. As a team, they take on an assignment to locate a F. B. I. agent missing in action.

After Nathan and his partner start their investigation, they uncover the truth by putting the facts together. The truth as you will read begins with the undercover F. B. I. agent and why he was sent to bring down Freedoms Echo.

The title is First to Kill and when you read the story you will see why. I will make sure to definitely finish the Nathan McBride series. I would also highly recommend Mark Greaney’s Grey Man series and David Baldacci’s Will Roby series.

The four dead guards didn’t concern Mitch Rapp as much as the absence of the man they’d been paid to protect. Joe Rickman wasn’t just another foot soldier. For the last eight years Rickman had ran the CIA’s clandestine operations in Afghanistan. It was a murky job that involved working with virtually every disreputable figure in the Islamic Republic. More than a quarter billion dollars in cash had passed through Rickman’s hands during his tenure as the master of black ops and no one with a shred of sense wanted to know the details of how that money had been spent.

Awesome book well worth the credit and time. In this title some very interesting things happen to the main character Mitch Rapp and other important characters (Stan Harley) and some new characters are introduced. Don’t want to say much more than this as not to give the story away, but Mitch Rapp remains the last man you want to mess with.

There are twists at every turn so really pay attention to know who does what and who is on whose side. The Last Man includes modern day facts regarding the technologies used in the war on terra.

This book was awesome just like the other two books I read by Mark Greaney The Grey Man and On Target. I can't wait until the next series. I would say his books are as good as the Vince Flynn novels with the plot and the main character Court Gentry.

I like how Mark Greaney does not make Court Gentry look like some kind of superman who fights and never gets hurt. I am also waiting on a series which comes out and explains what Court actually did that upsetted the CIA. In this book it was sort of said but not entirely. I guess this unless I missed it is part of the authors attempt to keep listeners hooked on the series.

Before he was considered a CIA superagent, before he was thought of as a terrorists worst nightmare, and before he was both loathed and admired by the politicians on Capitol Hill, Mitch Rapp was a gifted college athlete without a care in the world . . . and then tragedy struck.

    "Yung Operative's Beginning"
    Overall

Vince Flynn is one of the top authors that I would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in this subject area. I waited a long time for this book like others because it marked the beginning of Mitch Rapp's career with the CIA and the challenges he faced becoming an operative. The only thing that was sad in the end one of the operatives was killed which is a harsh reminder of the dangers the career presents. Also, like how Vince ends his books leaving you with enough you can almost see where the next book will come in.
