From the author of the groundbreaking New York Times bestseller The Female Brain, here is the eagerly awaited follow-up book that demystifies the puzzling male brain.

Dr. Louann Brizendine, the founder of the first clinic in the country to study gender differences in brain, behavior, and hormones, turns her attention to the male brain, showing how, through every phase of life, the "male reality" is fundamentally different from the female one. Exploring the latest breakthroughs in male psychology and neurology with her trademark accessibility and candor, she reveals that the male brain:

*is a lean, mean, problem-solving machine. Faced with a personal problem, a man will use his analytical brain structures, not his emotional ones, to find a solution.

*thrives under competition, instinctively plays rough and is obsessed with rank and hierarchy.

*has an area for sexual pursuit that is 2.5 times larger than the female brain, consuming him with sexual fantasies about female body parts.

*experiences such a massive increase in testosterone at puberty that he perceive others' faces to be more aggressive.

The Male Brain finally overturns the stereotypes. Impeccably researched and at the cutting edge of scientific knowledge, this is a book that every man, and especially every woman bedeviled by a man, will need to own.

    Praise for The Female Brain:
"Louann Brizendine has done a great favor for every man who wants to understand the puzzling women in his life. A breezy and enlightening guide to women and a must-read for men."
—Daniel Goleman, author of Emotional Intelligence

Not a book I would recommend. Too much techno-talk. Very disconnected and does not flow.

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer. Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries....

Would you consider the audio edition of Hounded to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version of Hounded but I am enjoying the different accents managed by Luke Daniels. I especially enjoy the voice of Oberon, the Irish Wolfhound!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I haven't finished the book but I am especially fond of Oberon, the Irish Wolfhound

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

Every married couple knows you don't go to bed angry. The corollary, Cork O'Connor realizes, is that you also don't say goodbye when you're mad. When the charter plane Jo O'Connor is on crashes over the mountains in Wyoming in an early winter storm, Cork deeply regrets the heated argument he had with his wife just before she left. An intense search is launched, but bad weather and the steep terrain hinder the efforts and soon the search is abandoned.

What did you love best about Heaven's Keep?

I loved the interaction between Cork and his son Stephen

Who was your favorite character and why?

Stephen was my favorite character because you get to follow him as he develops from an awkward pre-teen to a sensitive, dedicated teenage son and brother.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat all the way through to the end of the book. There were unusual twists that were handled nicely.

    Any additional comments?

I have read (and listened to) several Corcoran O'Conner books. I have not been disappointed yet and I thoroughly enjoy the informative look into reservation life and Ojibwa traditions and heritage.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes, it was time well-spent. I was driving on a 5-6 hour trip and it kept me entertained for the trip down and back.

Would you ever listen to anything by Suzanne Collins again?

Yes, I just downloaded the third book in the series

What about Carolyn McCormick’s performance did you like?

She was very easy to listen too. She managed the different voices with ease.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Definitely. I did see the movie tied in to book 1 and I would go to see this one in movie format too.

    Any additional comments?

A slow start but stay with it. The arena experience is satisfying and now I am enticed to read the final book in the series.
