Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would not recommend this book. I am a fan of Cards writing usually, but this time I felt like I wasn't so much listening to a completed story as listening to the writers notes instead. There was no flow to this story at all, everything felt choppy and disoriented - as tho card kept realizing he'd forgotten to add important elements into the tale and so just plopped them in whenever it came to mind.

    Any additional comments?

I will say that the story had huge potential! Sadly I didn't enjoy it enough to bother moving on to the next book in the series... Perhaps it gets better. The narrators did a beautiful job of attempting to bring the characters to life.
Tho it's sad to say this story, tho not a complete waste of time, gave nothing to make it memorable.

It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive. Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them - not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her. His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble. But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can't entirely explain.

This book came as a pleasant surprise to me. I picked it up on a whim despite not seeming my usual style, but figured for the sale price I had nothing to lose.
To my pleasant surprise I was instantly taken by the storyline. The characters were believable and I was instantly attached to certain characters because of their background or personality. The tale flowed easily and smoothly, and the narration served as a beautiful enhancement!
    Highly recommended.

George Galen is a brilliant scientist, a pioneer in gene therapy. But Galen is dangerously insane. He has created a method to alter human DNA, not just to heal diseases, but also to "improve" people - make them stronger, make them able to heal more quickly...and make them compliant to his will.

I was hooked within 10 minutes of starting this story. In true Card style I was quickly whisked away into a world of the "almost possible and potentially probable" alternate reality he presented.
The characters flew to life for me, and I felt connected almost intimately to their feelings.
Fiction that completely lifts you out of reality and places you into an entirely new world is rare but this story did it with flare! I was loathe to turn it off and saddened when my visit into their world was over and the tale finished.

Alex Lomax is the one and only private eye working the mean streets of New Klondike, the Martian frontier town that sprang up 40 years ago after Simon Weingarten and Denny O’Reilly discovered fossils on the Red Planet. Back on Earth, where anything can be synthesized, the remains of alien life are the most valuable of all collectibles, so shiploads of desperate treasure hunters stampeded to Mars in the Great Martian Fossil Rush.

The narrator saved this story in my opinion. Without his strong voice creating interest in this story I'd never have gotten past the first hour. The characters lacked dimension. Even the main character remained relatively unknown to me as I got further within the story. While the story had strong potential it failed to deliver.

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

Would you listen to Ender's Game again? Why?

Absolutely! Within minutes I was captivated. It was the type of story that actually leaves you upset to turn away from it. The characters are realistic and completely believable. It's easy to get swept away into their world and there were enough twists and turns that I never became bored as I easily can when listening or reading a story.
I highly recommend this to anyone who's a fan of the genre, and even those who aren't - if anything will turn you into a scyfy fan it's this story!

This was a beautifully written tale of Christmas joy and how it often comes from the most unexpected places. The performance was good, but the tale itself will sweep you away into a world that will lift your spirit! A wonderful holiday listen.
