This is a book that's just great fun to listen to. I really liked how Eric Idle reads this Children's Classic. It would be a great listen on a family road trip, or snuggled up together at home. If you've only ever seen the movie, you have to give yourself the present of listening to the book! There are some differences between the book and movie. I think most differences as actually being for the better in the book...like the room Veruca Salt actually had her comeuppance in. I can't wait for Audible to get the sequel, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator! A totally enjoyable book!

I'm relatively new to Dick Francis, and really love listening to his books. I especially like how Geoffrey Howard reads the books. I will definitely look for more books narrated by him! I enjoyed this book very much and while it is true because it's about an "Enquiry," so not as centered on horses per say, I really enjoyed the building of the case and how Kelly Hughes figured out who was behind his being barred from racing, and how he went about getting his reputation restored. This is a winner!

What a fun twist on the Cinderella Story. I really enjoyed the reader of this book, and thought she did such a great job with all the different people in this book. Her reading draws you into the story and makes you sorry when it comes to an end. For an enchanting story that will take you away from the stresses of the world, look no further! It would be even more enjoyable to listen to with your favorite princess!

This was a very well written book. The story itself was bittersweet, though.I liked the narrator and enjoyed how it showed how we all need to get to know someone before judging them.

I'd have to agree with the 1st reviewer. I also have always loved this book, and thought how fun it would be to hear the author read it. Well, it distracted from the story instead of enhancing it. She was difficult to understand at times and I wasn't fond of her voice mannerisms either. Wonderful book, just would have been better with a different narrator.
