"Informative but BORING!!"
As a history buff, I loved hearing the stories behind the writing of the Federalist Papers. These papers are something everyone one should read at least once in their lives, but there has to be a better way to go about it. The book was just plain boring most of the time.
Very monotone. The parts read by Beck were good, but the other narrator was just plain boring.
"Good But Not Great"
I would not listen to the story again as the plot was not deep enough where I think I would get anything else out of the story.
The book was good, but not great. It was interesting enough to keep my attention, but it wasn't one of those books I couldn't put down.
"Humanizing to say the least"
I would absolutely recommend this to a friend. Any chance we get to really connect with a president is one we should sieze, but the way this book was written and the story Clinton tells is something that in some way we can all relate to. It makes you shine an inward light on yourself without even realizing you are doing it.
As a staunch Republican, I thought I was going to hate this book, or at least be arguing with the author through most of it. I was delightfully surprised!! The book was less about politics and more about a man and his journey.
"Truely Awesome! One of my new favorites!!"
Hearing the story in the authors own words helped me to understand the passion and the pain that went into the authors words.
The description of the time in the Isreali camp was breath taking. Learning of his transformation from a radical terrorist, the Son of Hamas, to someone willing to stand up for what they believed was right was truly inspirational.
"Ok But Not Great"
A very interesting look into the world of fast food, beef and potatos. The author gave me some things to think about and confirmed why I try to have as few processed foods as possible.
Most likely not. His way over the top style made me tune out sometimes. It became very hard to discern between important parts and filler.
The information was interesting and it shed light on an area that needs it; however, his blatent politics did not belong in the book. There was no need for the Republican Party bashing that seemed to be in every chapter.
"An interesting look behind the scene."
This is an interesting account and behind the scenes look at a Presidency that not only shaped the county, but the world.
"Surprisingly relatable, even for me, a Republican"
Yes; it is interesting to hear the story told by the one who worte it. It makes even more of an impact now that he is president.
His reference to his children really makes his story a human one, not just the story of some far off politician you can't relate to.
