I'm a mom. I have drama in my life. I don't want books with the F-bomb, nor graphic violence. I read for fun and to bring my family together. I read for reducing stress levels. We have never had a television in our home and our children are now mid twenties to 19. We listen together and look for belly-wrenching laughter. So what is it like to live without a TV? Awesomely educational and inspirational. Each new book is a marvel.

Dragnet is a great short of the crimes we see in real life. What a crazy series of events. Crime doesn't pay because the victims do. Good sound quality and narration

In one year Julia Sweeney got a divorce (amicable), bought a small bungalow in Hollywood, and looked forward to a life that said, "Here dwells a happily single young woman!" But then the axe fell. Her younger brother, Mike, was diagnosed with terminal cancer and moved in with her. Her parents came to be with Mike and moved in with her, too. Julia was now on seriously intimate terms with the people she had spent half a lifetime growing up away from.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I think this book is totally for SNL fans. 'Pat' isn't doing it for me.

If you really enjoy listening to live comedy AND you like Saturday Night Live, then this book is for you. I'm having a hard time with poking fun at one's family in this fashion.

Sorry everyone. I know you don't like my few stars but would you allow me to not enjoy this? Call it my crazy moment, but allow me to choose my own 5 star books. Ok?

What did you love best about Big Rod?

This is a very sad story. A woman is hit by a young driver that 'doesn't get it'. He thinks it just doesn't matter. The husband is extremely upset. Very sad.

    Pretty good story.

Wow! This was a really good story and played out well. The characters were real and believable. This is one of the highlights of the whole series!

A corrupt government is at the center, I guess it seems so real today - just read any news site.

  • The Bell Bandit: The Lemonade War Series, Book 3

Jacqueline Davies’ The Lemonade War was praised for using subjects such as math and economics to create a “suspenseful, subtly educational plot that goes down as easily as a cool glass of lemonade in August” (Children’s Literature). The third novel in the series starring fourth-grader Evan Treski and his smarty-pants younger sister, Jessie, follows the siblings as they try to solve the mystery of who stole the New Year’s Bell from atop Lovell Hill.

If you could sum up The Bell Bandit in three words, what would they be?

Wow! This book really improved on the series with Evan and Jessie getting along and using the skills of each other to 'get the job done'.

Grandma's bell has disappeared and two mean boys now live in the neighborhood. Maxwell rescues a frog, Jessie finds Grandma when she gets lost and Evan proves he has skills of his own. All ends well with the New Year being rung in, literally.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Curse of Shiva to be better than the print version?

The séance to contact the spirit world happens and fraud (gasp!) is committed. Omar is the lead.

The Great God Shiva has been angered. Mr John Simmons has been murdered. The Police Commissioner even sits in on a séance to see what happens. The Shadow sits in to solve the case.

There are hisses and pops in this recording. The age of the recording is obvious.
