Amazing how adults can screw up kids lives. Anyway, while I don't believe these characters are 7th graders, I can believe they are teens. And they have certainly been dealt a bad hand in this game. Making the best of things is their way of life and I laughed considerably while they did this. I saw the plot coming long before it happened. If you like this book then you should get the Ariadne Meyers narrated books by
Sarah Mlynowski. Start with Bras and Broomsticks. Not only will you laugh about being a teen again, but Ariadne Meyers was great.
I enjoyed Francois Battiste in this book. I'll look for books he has narrated in the future.

The man who owns a shop was brutally beaten to death. His body was found in the rear of his store. Friday and Smith investigate. Custom clothing is key.
The acquaintances of a few guys out of prison are reporting the robberies and thefts made by ex-con. Claims also include drug use. Not the strongest Dragnet episode but ok. Good sound quality.

and then the story begins. Frank is hilarious. Sometimes I wonder what happens in police departments as the cases are being worked on. Car stripping is the main story but it follows the escapades of Frank Smith.
After a 48 hours pass two Marines fail to return to duty. Many more days go by and the Marines are found but they are very ill. A man from the Marines gets Friday and Smith involved with the poisoning if the two Marines. Good sound quality.
A note comes in to the narcotics group within LAPD, having originally been written to Juvenile. The note sets up a meeting with officers to disclose information on who is in a local drug ring. Friday and Smith conquer another drug issue.
