This book would not have been so enjoyable to listen, if the narrator had been different. Too funny! I am just drawn in and can see Tom and characters in my mind, clear as day. I loved the stumble when it came to winning the bible. David and who?

There are a few snipettes of the audio that are cut out. Someone wasn't watching what they were doing. But these can be skipped over. It would be nice to see an updated audio prepared. If this were a paper book, then the missing pages would be cause for return to the seller. Because this book is in the public domain, the text is easily found.

If you want a funny story, the kind that are dismissed because "boys will be boys" then you should really enjoy this audiobook because of this specific narration.

The story is short so it is perfect for a quick listen. I really can't put my finger on it, but this story didn't move me. I suspect it is because the tale is so brief that the life of the characters just doesn't have time to develop and come to life.

If you are a Holmes fan, then I suspect you will really enjoy this book. If you want a quick short but aren't devoted to all things Holmes, then I think you should look for another title. This could be just my perspective but I won't listen to this one again.

I'm not sure why I bought this title, it could be that I was missing my 100 year old grandma or the Snickers commercial , but whatever brought me to this place had me laughing about Betty's observations.

I've not had a television for 25 years so the sitcoms did not influence my decision. I found a fellow animal-lover in this story and enjoyed her adventures. Betty is funny and this is a feel-good read.

I love Michael. His life is proof that when opportunity knocks, it is up to us to answer the door.

Most of us have some type of awful event in our lives, from our genes to our relationships, but we must overcome the pressures to remain in the continuous cycle. I love good role models in sports, they just don't get as much press as the bad boys/girls, so finding someone like Michael is my chance to cheer.

Michael is a great role model. I think everyone can learn something from this book. The small part to learn is how Hollywood rewrites "true" stories, the big part to learn is how to make a difference in life.

Nope. Too weird.

The primary character seems rather conflicted. I am not sure why I got his book but I did listen tot the whole thing. I know some of the text has me baffled because it was written before I was born, but the "I'm a dashing, chivalrous man who sort of holds back with women and tells them not to sell them selves short, unless it is to please me" seems way off mark.

Someone recommended this. Now I need to remember who it was, and make a mental note to research more.

Ok, here is the deal. I bought book 2 in this series and then realized I got the wrong one. So.. I bought book 1 and started there. After the first book I wasn't sure what to think. The topic was interesting, the characters had redeeming points but the execution was very flawed. I have a hard time with authors who can't keep their facts straight.

For crying out loud! Buy a pack of 3x5 cards and write a physical description of the character on the card. From then on out refer to the card when the character says "it matches my ____ eyes." And don't allow their hair to grow 4 inches in a mere 2 weeks.

This part really bugged me.

Next, if a character has such a depressing life, why do I want to live it with them? I read to enjoy, to conquer the world, to feel like the good guy always wins. After listening to book one I thought I would give two a chance. The author improves, a tiny bit, but just not enough to drag me through her depressing and muddy life for another 6-8 hours.

I won't waste another credit.

I really enjoyed these books but the books end as real cliff hangers and it can be really tough to know you need 9 credits to go through this series.

Andy is as simple as it gets. He admits his dislike for work and I find his sense of humor to be fantastic. We listen together (spouse and myself) and it just kills me when our schedules turn and I must wait to begin listening again. We hold on to each word and laugh out loud with Andy's antics. The crimes are being described more graphically and this might not thrill some listeners. What I like most about David Rosenfelt's books are the real human traits of Andy, Lori, Pete and Sam. They have funny things to say and they don't take everything too seriously. Some of the plot is stretched too strange to be real, but this is why it is called fiction. I think the best part to the Andy Carpenter series is the "feel good" approach to daily life. A body needs laughter as much as air, water, food and shelter.

We just keep laughing at the thoughts of Andy Carpenter. Who is so true to themselves they admit they don't want another client? Andy. This humor filled book will have you wishing Andy were at least an uncle in your family because the drama AND humor would have the rest of the family chocking on their cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving dinner.

We highly recommend. If you can, don't listen alone. These laugh-out-loud moments are best shared.

We continue with the Andy Carpenter series because we love the court room drama without the book being too much thriller. There is a lot of humor here! Andy is very funny and he is far from perfect, he is just lovable.

This book has really marked a turning point in David's writing. The story is more thriller, less silly. Don't think this means the humor has gone, it hasn't! But the plot has deepened and David's storytelling is becoming more sophisticated. The less than intense drama/graphic thriller is more up our alley than the book to movie types with intense weapon use.

We really like Andy, Lori and Tara. I once thought Pete was my favorite second level character but I am thinking Sam is now my favorite. Listen on!
