Very tight story, if you pay attention, all the information is there to figure out the ending. Even if you do not, you will find that it all fits in the end.
Well worth a listen.
I like much of Niven's work, but this was just painful to finish. Don't bother with this download.
As others have mentioned in their reviews, you really have to suspend your belief in reality to stay with this book. Many times I had to check myself from audibly saying 'no way' when the author makes another leap in logic.
Of the books written by Brown, this was his least enjoyable effort. Don't waste the money on this one.
If you think Rambo is good cinema, then you will like this book. However, if you expect some basis of believability, then you will find it hard to stay with this book. The author makes so many decisions in advancing his story that just are too far from credible. Sure, I enjoy a good spy/adventure novel like anyone else. I just expect it to be something that I can credible believe in.
I don't want to put too much in detail on this in case you still want to listen to the book.
I really liked 'Last to Die', but this book was terrible. The writing was fine, but the plot was just not believable. It really boils down to how the FBI works and how they would handle informants, serial killers, and HRT. In ?The Informant?, Grippando could not have butchered the function of the FBI any more. I found myself thinking, there is just no way that could happen.
Avoid this book.
The audio was so low, that even with the volume of my player at maximum, I could barely hear the book.
Man, one little party on company expense and look what happens. I loved the plot of this book. Who knows what? Who is working for whom? What is going to happen next?
A great thriller of corporate espionage. It will have you on the edge of your seat (hard to do while driving) and wanting more.
Wow, this was the first audio book I listened to in years. What a great way to get back into the swing! Being a technophile myself, I loved Deaver's accuracy with which his protagonist works his magic.
If you have any curiosity about MUDs and cyber crime, get this book.
If you just love a good mystery, thriller with great plot twists and a satisfying ending, get this book.
If you are not that technically savvy, not to worry, you can easily follow the plot regardless.
If you can get past the language in the book (which is unfortunately accurate for today's universities), you get a decent insight to college today. Yes, the characters are over the top representing the extreme of each category (frat boy, jock, vain intellectual, left-wing professor). But the story is well written and riveting.
I thought that it was also well read, with the right ambiance fitting each 'scene' in the book.
In the end though, I was disappointed in Charlotte. She didn't learn a dang thing...
