From John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald, there have been more than two dozen assassination attempts on the President of the United States. Four have been successful. But now, Beecher White - the hero of the number one New York Times best seller The Inner Circle - discovers a killer in Washington, D.C. who's meticulously re-creating the crimes of these four men. Concerned for Benji's health, the doctor offers him two options: wear the world's ugliest padded helmet or get a therapy dog. Benji chooses the dog, of course. But when a massive crate arrives at Benji's house, out walks a two hundred-pound Newfoundland. And that isn't even the strangest thing about the dog. He announces that his name is Parker Elvis Pembroke IV. That's right, this dog can talk!

Would you listen to Elvis and the Underdogs again? Why?

Really good storytelling and the entire family could relate (from 6 to 45!). It started off a bit slow, but we were on a road trip and all of us got involved with the story. It became hard to stop listening...and we were sad that the story ended.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Elvis. Love the attitude and wisdom of the dog.

    Any additional comments?

More Elvis! We'd all love to read a sequel.

It’s Halloween, and you know what that means! Candy! Costumes! More candy! What would happen if a kid ate a million hundred pounds of chocolate in one night? One thing’s for sure - when A. J. and his friends from Ella Mentry School go trick-or-treating, it will be a Halloween to remember.

From the unique perspective of David Sedaris comes a new collection of essays taking his listeners on a bizarre and stimulating world tour. From the perils of French dentistry to the eating habits of the Australian kookaburra, from the squat-style toilets of Beijing to the particular wilderness of a North Carolina Costco, we learn about the absurdity and delight of a curious traveler's experiences.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I thought the first chapter was ok and the french dentist story hilarious. Then it died and just got depressing. I know times have changed, but I didn't really enjoy hearing the stories from his youth.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    disappointment
