The story was good, average Cornwell but the narrator had the annoying habit of taking a deep audible breath before every sentence. I couldn't concentrate on the story, I kept waiting for the breath in-take!
The ending is disappointing because Nick turns out to be a character not worth investing your time in.
I liked their narration. Very well done!
disappointment growing for all the choices Nick makes. And at the end, well I want to shake Nick and ask him, "Why??" It was just frustrating...
The plot gets a little unbelievable. Where do these people live that neighbours cannot see someone loading up a shed full of stuff? Also, no one can be so self conscience as to act as he did, even in the face of a tragedy. He smiled for the cameras, not once but twice... REALLY??
This is a heartwarming story of acceptance and love. I sadly have not seen the movie, but I did enjoy the reading. The different characters came to life.
The time travel was very believable. Some aspects of the book were a little controversial to some, but it reflects the time period. "Politically correct" and "gender equality" were not terms of this time period.
I had listened to a few of his books and this one is among my favourites.
The narrator is very good and does the cajun accent well.
I don't understand why people would need to pull over because they are laughing so hard. I laughed out loud once, ok maybe twice but definitely not hysterically!! More like a single HA!
I found the book enjoyable and Tina Fey is good, except when she mutters. I suspect that these are very funny parts, but I dunno because I couldn't hear it!!
no. the book is funny but not pay $40 to see it funny
It is one of my "new favourite" books. The plot is so interesting that I just could not leave the car sometimes! It is based on a well known historic event; however it is told from a totally different perspective. Very interesting!
The greatest thing about this book is the performance of the narrator. It is simply mind boggling that this is one person. He does female voices well, however, he is amazing when it comes to accents; be it Russian, New England, or even an old African American woman! I could easily picture each person as he performed them. AMAZING!
I will be choosing my next book by looking up his other works.
