I talked myself into downloading this one after reading some other reviews...and it was BAD. First, the story is BAD....then - the writing/transitions/characters are BAD and finally, it had a BAD ending. Just not a good listen...disappointed.

Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

In the wild, when a wolf knows its time is over, when it knows it is of no more use to its pack, it may sometimes choose to slip away. Dying apart from its family, it stays proud and true to its nature. Humans aren’t so lucky. Luke Warren has spent his life researching wolves. He has written about them, studied their habits intensively, and even lived with them for extended periods of time.

I got this book - not expecting it to be very good...but it was! A few good twists and turns to keep you listening - and in the end I was left with a few things to think about. All and all a good listen!

Why we think it’s a great listen: If you’ve ever loved a dog - or even patted a dog - this book, told from the perspective of man’s best friend, will tug at your heartstrings...and won’t let go until long after Welch performs the last word. Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: a philosopher with a nearly human soul (and an obsession with opposable thumbs), he has educated himself by watching television extensively and by listening very closely to the words of his master.

I always recommend this book to anyone who says "what's the best book you've ever read?" - and I know they are a dog lover...the story is very emotional - and I didn't think the racing aspect was too heavy - all-in-all worth the download...and I'll probably name my next dog Enzo!

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning-author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

This book was fantastic...I was just over half way done when I realized it was a book for a "younger audience" - PLEASE don't let that stop you from listening to this one...it's a beautiful story! The Q&A with the author at the end was also very interesting!
