From the author who's inspired millions worldwide with books like Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven comes his most imaginative novel yet, The Time Keeper--a compelling fable about the first man on earth to count the hours.

In a time long forgotten, a preternatural event threw the seasons off balance. In a land where summers can last decades and winters a lifetime, trouble is brewing. As the cold returns, sinister forces are massing beyond the protective wall of the kingdom of Winterfell. To the south, the king's powers are failing, with his most trusted advisor mysteriously dead and enemies emerging from the throne's shadow.

What made the experience of listening to A Game of Thrones the most enjoyable?

Dotrice, at first I wasn't sure of all the character voice changes but he makes it work. There must be hundreds of characters

What did you like best about this story?

The unknown, the mystery of those possible problems coming from beyond the wall
The fantasy that leaves you waiting for it to happen

Have you listened to any of Roy Dotrice’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    Haven't done any yet, but....
I can't believe he's the same guy who plays the Russian coach in "the cutting edge" movie

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This is really extreme dramatics with surprises and violence
    Not for kids

    Any additional comments?

Listening to a part of the story and seeing the same part online is fun, you can do this without spoiling the rest of the book

It has been 40 years since the publication of this classic science-fiction novel that changed the way we look at the stars and ourselves. From the savannas of Africa at the dawn of mankind to the rings of Saturn as man adventures to the outer rim of our solar system, 2001: A Space Odyssey is a journey unlike any other.

What did you like best about this story?

The mystery of the monoliths, the fantasy of Dave's adventure through space

Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No
The performance was great, you can tell when they recorded separate scenes especially when HAL speaks, that doesn't ruin it, the effect is that it makes it creepy

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

My reaction is asking for the sequel on audible immediately
    And buying the kindle version

    Any additional comments?

I had know idea that the story was this cool
Pretty cool that it was written yrs before landing on the moon and space flight in general

What would have made The Haunting of Hill House better?

    A real story
    I was very disappointed

What was most disappointing about Shirley Jackson’s story?

    Really everything
    Plot, the main characters
The most annoying person was the doctors wife

Which character – as performed by Bernadette Dunne – was your favorite?

    Eleanor was great
But she was an empty character as well, and crazy before being asked to go the hill house

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Lots of disappointment
    No anxiety, no fear,
It's a shame but I wanted it to be over

In December 1975, the Lutz family moved into their new home on suburban Long Island. George and Kathleen Lutz knew that, one year earlier, Ronald DeFeo had murdered his parents, brothers, and sisters in the house, but the property - complete with boathouse and swimming pool - and the price were too good to pass up. This is the shocking true story of an American dream that turned into a nightmare beyond imagining for the Lutz family, who were forced to flee their new home in terror.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Got 40 hours to kill? You’ll find the time when you start listening to Lee’s take on Follett’s epic – and widely celebrated – novel of 12th-century England. The Pillars of the Earth tells the story of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout and resourceful monk driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has known...of Tom, the mason who becomes his architect - a man divided in his soul...and of the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame....

If you could sum up The Pillars of the Earth in three words, what would they be?

    Graphic, epic, engrossing

What did you like best about this story?

The adventure, you become very involved with all the characters, good and just pure evil equally

What about John Lee’s performance did you like?

    Everything
He fits the scene, I don't know where they find these narrators but they are fantastic

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened for long stretches but 40hrs 55 min speaks for itself

    Any additional comments?

I wish there was more of a tie in with Ellens curses
The mystery behind jacks father was lacking
This is epic and I would strongly suggest to anyone to give it a listen

We live across the thousand dunes with grit in our teeth and sand in our homes. No one will come for us. No one will save us. This is our life, diving for remnants of the old world so that we may build what the wind destroys. No one is looking down on us. Those constellations in the night sky? Those are the backs of gods we see.

Would you consider the audio edition of Sand: Omnibus Edition to be better than the print version?

Maybe I'm not used to female narrators but reading the story myself was more enjoyable. No offense to chilton, she was ok.

What other book might you compare Sand: Omnibus Edition to and why?

Sand is original, young adult material that was cooI, would cont reading a sequel.

Have you listened to any of Karen Chilton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't, even though I didn't like listening to her now I would give her another chance and do not discourage anyone from listening to sand

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I liked the end, I'm not sure we get to any real answers about the east, at the same time you do not feel mislead about what the family needs to do next

Here are the confessions of a vampire. Hypnotic, shocking, and chillingly erotic, this is a novel of mesmerizing beauty and astonishing force - a story of danger and flight, of love and loss, of suspense and resolution, and of the extraordinary power of the senses. It is a novel only Anne Rice could write. From the Paperback edition.

def. by simon vance, he's great. ill stay away from this vampire series for now.

Would you be willing to try another book from Anne Rice? Why or why not?

no, not for a while. at the same time i can still encourage people to the story, the way she wrote it i didn't expect.

What does Simon Vance bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

he always sounds like he's directly from the story, he's better then b. pitt as louie

Do you think Interview with the Vampire needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

i wouldn't read it, their is a series but my expectation was different so I'm staying away.

    Any additional comments?

50% of the book seemed like poetry from the vamps point of view, wasn't as dark or horror filled as i though it would be. lots of mellow drama but i can see why people are into it

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive—and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plain old "human error" are much more likely to kill him first. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet. Drawing on his ingenuity, his engineering skills—and a relentless, dogged refusal to quit—he steadfastly confronts one seemingly insurmountable obstacle after the next. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him?"

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Something like this doesn't get any better

What did you like best about this story?

If they broadcast this story on tv in the same way war of the worlds was done everyone would believe this was happening, this book is really terrific.

What does R. C. Bray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Everything, amazing narration. Weir and bray should win awards for this production.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I heard they have the movie rights, you know they are going to ruin this. They should put the book cover on the big screen and run the audiobook and have people listen to this, that would be amazing.

    Any additional comments?

All other reviews are correct, the book and narration are just superior
