Notorious Nora Sutherlin is famous for her delicious works of erotica, each one more popular with readers than the last. But her latest manuscript is different - more serious, more personal - and she's sure it'll be her breakout book…if it ever sees the light of day. Zachary Easton holds Nora's fate in his well-manicured hands. The demanding British editor agrees to handle the book on one condition: He wants complete control. Nora must rewrite the entire novel to his exacting standards - in six weeks - or it's no deal. Nora's grueling writing sessions with Zach are draining…and shockingly arousing.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I couldn't finish listening to The Siren. Aeron James's reading of this was rushed (he speaks too fast) and his characters poor.

Would you be willing to try another one of Aeron James’s performances?

    NO!

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Anger, Sadness and Disappointment! Mr. James's performance ruined one of my favorite books.

Mr. James has problems with an American accent, making Nora sound English and Wesley sound like a Brit who lived in the south too long. The character that is described as a "Trust Fund Baby" from NY sounds like he should be in the cast of the Sopranos.

    Any additional comments?

Please Please Please re-record with a better narrator!

Deep in the stacks of Oxford's Bodleian Library, young scholar Diana Bishop unwittingly calls up a bewitched alchemical manuscript in the course of her research. Descended from an old and distinguished line of witches, Diana wants nothing to do with sorcery; so after a furtive glance and a few notes, she banishes the book to the stacks. But her discovery sets a fantastical underworld stirring, and a horde of daemons, witches, and vampires soon descends upon the library.

I loved this audio book! The story is wonderful and imaginative, full of rich places and people you wish you could meet in real life. The narration was beautiful, Jennifer Ikeda perfectly hit all voices from a 1000+ year old French female vampire, to a young teen warlock whose voice is changing.

I could not recommend this book highly enough, and in particular the audio version. I'm just glad I don't have to wait for the second installment to continue the adventure.

Enigmatic and sexy, Professor Gabriel Emerson is a well-respected Dante specialist by day, but by night he devotes himself to an uninhibited life of pleasure. He uses his notorious good looks and sophisticated charm to gratify his every whim, but is secretly tortured by his dark past and consumed by the profound belief that he is beyond all hope of redemption. When the sweet and innocent Julia Mitchell enrolls as his graduate student, his attraction and mysterious connection to her not only jeopardizes his career, but sends him on a journey in which his past and his present collide.

If you could sum up Gabriel's Inferno in three words, what would they be?

    True romance novel

Who was your favorite character and why?

Gabriel is so flawed and although he knows it, he is content to life his life as it is.

Have you listened to any of John Morgan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first time I've heard a book narrated by John Morgan and he can read to me in bed any night... Well actually he has been thanks to Audible.
