I agree with many of the other reviewers. I feel insulted by this book. Jensen is an immature, idiotic character who takes too long undertand the simpliest things. It is as if Terry Goodkind wanted a whole novel to spout her philosphy over and over. Since the reader knows that Jensen is fooled, the agony is sitting through hours of tedium. Love the rest of the books so far.
Interesting until the whole angel nonsense. The main character is tedious as are the love interests,
Not much to say other than that. Loved it. Wish I did not have to wait until 2015 for the next one.
Wow, read the reveiws before purchasing this, and I am disappointed. Its VERY slow...Some what interesting premise, but for a snail.
This was a recommended book several times, so I purchased it. The narrator was slooooowwww and the story was written at a 4th grade level. I am returning it.
Boooooo. Wow! This book kept coming up as a recommendation, so I finally got it. Blah. It has all been done before, two seemly ordinary brothers/friends find out that they are special, grand adventure, wise old mystery man, many close calls....a hundred times in a hundred ways from the Robert Jordan to Terry Brooks, and the Lord of the ring and every other fantasy series about a boy with special talents.
But, in addition to a recycled story line, it was also very very slow. While Scott Brick is my favorite narrator, even he could not put adventure and depth where there was none. Skip it.
What can I say, I loved this book. I hope there will be more. It was clever, interesting and funny. My only criticism is that I wanted more.
If I wanted to read a boring story about time traveling back in time to a boring era, I would have kept reading the Outlander series. The first book was excellent, and this was a disappointment. Everything that was done in the 16th century, could have been done in the present, without all the silly historical figures and nonsense. Hopefully the next book will be more like the first.
