If you are a therapist this is a good read for your clients (even those who are narcissists). Very informative and gives a taste of Schema therapy.
As an atheist I found myself enjoying this book about god and love. Gregory Boyle shows how simple our basic needs are and how when these are meet they can foster change. Boyle believes in his Homies more than they believe in themselves and this is their key to their change!
The book talks about God, but truly shows how connecting with others is the essence!
Boyle himself is a character!Funny, loving and a heart full of hood compassion
I really loved it.
no, in my sense it is touching on a big subject in a shallow way
cutting it in half would have improved the book
you get a sense of how a crime can haunt you and over time make you a crazy
This is a pretty scary book about the "big brother" and his attempts controlling people by controlling their thoughts, feeling and even language. It is a sad reminder to dark regimes that still hold power in some counties
I also listened to "the picture of Dorian Gray" another great classic
This book will make feel what psychological torture is about!
I laughed through this book. The book describes two stories, one of Allan Karlsson, a100 years old man at present, and the other of the unfolding of his life. His life would not shame a James bond movie, tied with historical events and figues and seasoned with a great sense of humor that brings to life differant historical figures. I surely recommend this one!
Julia Donaldson write great children's books and this one is one of her best!
I love to read it to my kids and to myself, I guess I still a child deep down. A mouse with wit faces and handles different animals in the woods and faces a monster with great wisdom. I loved it.
The plot of this story is crazy, yet it is very compelling to read. Good and evil are neither so good nor evil; they unite with great British humor in an attempt to save the world from destruction. Well read.
