"Really good read!"
I enjoyed this book of a father abducting his own daughter and the adventures/misadventures than ensue. Good characterization.
"DULL, DULL, DULL"
What a waste of a credit, if you want the characters to anything interesting, don't read this book.
"See the movie, for once it is better."
I saw the movie before the book, and loved it, but found the book itself a bit dull
and pedestrian. It was just ok.
"Boring, boring, boring."
I really tried to get into this book, liked the premise, liked the narrator, but just could not summon the interest needed to live with these characters.
"Very enjoyable read!"
I really enjoyed this book! All of the action takes place in 24 hours and the prose is quite beautiful.
"A fantastic and scary adventure!"
This was an excellent audiobook, I would reccomend this book to folks interested in WWII and the Japanese-which would usually not include me. But this American hero who spent 47 days in a bullet filled raft and and another year and half in a slew of horrid Japanese prison camps after his plane went down is fascinating. Good narration as well.

"Loved this book!"
Strong, Interesting, Southern
Delarobia
Kingsolver does a great job of reading her own book, and it is a great one. In one sense the book is about climae change, but is suffused with a great American story of a southern woman in a dead end situation. Kingsolver gets her point across without being preachy.
"What a great book, Hildy is a great character!"
I wanted to read Leary because she is a transplanted New Englander like me (married to actor/comedian Denis Leary) and I loved her story about alchoholic Hildy, Hilda Good descendent of Sarah Good who was hanged in Salem for witchcraft back in the day. Hildy is 60 year old woman, a real successful real estate agent in small town MA who has been a serious drinker for a long time, and even though her daughters have staged an intervention, and Hildy has gone to treatment, she still finds a way to drink, quietly. What follows is a wild ride with a fix-it guy she is attracted to, weathy nutty neighbors and a great story that really pulls you in. Recommend.
"Boring, boring, boring."
The plot was dull.
I could not get into it at all, and I went to college in the 70's--it was just dull.
"A Very Worthwhile Listen"
The characters in TMP are very flawed, but often endearing. Most important is how well written the book is, the time of the book was in the early 80's, and the author did a great job of portraying college students in the 80's.
