Okay Im a big fan of the series, I'm not a big fan of this particular narrator cause she doesn't carry off the strong aspects of Anitas character. We love Jason and the way he deals with Anita on a more friend level then any of the other men. The problem is theres only a few minutes of Anita, Human Servant, Federal Marshall and Vampire Executioner forget the Necromancer part.
The other side is that we have to take into account Jean Claudes powers (Ardour) are based in SEX. So we really shouldn't be fazed by the amount of lovers Anita obtains. It's about power. I'm assuming we are suppose to take away from this book that theres an evil thats trying to seperate Anita from Jean Claude and sending lovers to her bed that Jean Claude can not control - like Tigers.
The listening of book 1 may not be mandatory to listen to this book 2 but it's not a bad idea. Both of these characters are introduced to us in the first one but not too much.
Killian aka Cookie is just a wonderful guy who through his friendship with Captain Torin is part of the crew on the ship that seems to look for trouble. This latest mission has Killian going into rescue someone who it turns out can complicate the lives of the entire crew.
Neath is the kind of man who may need rescuing. He gets caught up in a world many don't even knows exist. Killian is just what he needs but he doesn't know if his needs are real or affects of the drugs. They manage to muddle thru it just fine and throw some steamy sex in there as well.
Jack LeFleur our narrators just brings life to his characters you can tell which character you are listening to. Another great job for him.
Now this audio was just fun. It is a sparing match from the beginning. The attraction is mutual but is it a good time to explore it. Torin and Rain are both very strong personalities and they both are use to getting their own way. They argue, they fight, they get sexed up.
You should listen to see what it takes to earn each others trust.
Our narrator Jack Lefleur has been known to bring listeners in just because he's doing the voices. It's sooo true, he rocks.
I really enjoyed this audio. It was a good listen. The narrator was wonderful with his accent and innocents of our younger Ethan and the smoothness of Vampire character Miguel.
It may not be as deep as other Cardeno C 's books but it was certainly worth the price and it is something you could stand listening to more then once.
I enjoyed the not too complicated story of our characters, I believe the storyline could have been longer to get more in depth. However it was good at sticking to the bottom line. How and why are our characters getting together and what would keep them together.
This should be listened to after the book "Cursed". It was officially released before the other book but picks up after the other one.
Will and Richard are our main characters in this book They both have twin brothers, one set of twins Will and Tristan are witches and Richard and Raul are were wolfs. Tristan's mate is Benjamin their story is covered in "Cursed" and Raul is mated to Alex who's full story has not been told but they are part of these two books.
Raul takes Will with him to help uncover what has happened to his brother Richard. As it seems there is a witch who may be tampering with Richard. Will is a joy on this adventure and tries to reason with himself about his reaction to Richard and how strong the bond is, especially with Richards wolf.
This author does a good job with the close family relationships as well as the mates. The narrator who I have heard do a wonderful job on other projects, rips the heck out of this one. I was stunned at his lack of delivery.
You will experience HOT and detailed sex by all our mated couples in this book. Where you see the difference of the couples who are both were wolfs And by those whose mates are not. So try and keep your mouths closed in public!!
First and foremost for some reason this audio was added later then the next story "Betrayed", listen or read this one first.
I bought it as a in between preternatural listen as I waited for my monthly credit. Tristan and Benjamin's story is not bad. I liked that it was straight forward and clear. I usually go for lycan stories but don't usually care for witches as main characters. But Tristan being the witch worked out fine. He is a bit of a do gooder and does go the distance to right a wrong.
The narrator could have delivered so much better. And yes its what makes the story not as good.
It is my first "gay romance" story and I hate that it has to be classified as a "gay romance" because it is, bottom line a love story. Your main characters are two men that you will want to get together. There are detailed sex scenes so "watch out" and enjoy.
This 2nd installment just misses the mark for me. I loved the 1st book and I like who our characters are suppose to be. I think it was too long for the story and I think there are too many similarities with the PERSONALITIES of the female lead in the 1st book, who of course is in this book as well. It makes it feel like your listening to the same people. We have all listened to series with the same narrator and its fine but the characters are at least written differently. I still like the narrator for this series.
There's a good story buried in here, this is one time where the hard copy would have been better then the audible for me.
This is a nice ride. I was very surprised and pleased to listen to this book. It started well by establishing the definition of an Alpha male character. A strong leader that is respected and truly leads his pack. Our female lead is also an Alpha and she is a hoot and such a good match for him. She is strong, sarcastic, smart and real. Good luck on figuring out who has the upper hand in that relationship.
This is definitely an adults only listen, sex scenes are detailed and can get rough and tumbly. Our narrator did a good job with the male and female voices.
This is truly an entertaining book. Lets see what book 2 brings....
Let me start with this series is nothing like nor do I believe it is trying to be like the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. It could be a series worth following, but don't buy it expecting something it's not.
I found the characters likable enough. The story was good, but it was basically a nice romance that happened to include vampires. The 2nd installment is available but I will not run to get it. Do not think it's worth buying but maybe worth a credit.
This 3rd installment is longer then the others. I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much if I were reading the book. This has been the only one out of the four books that has an additional narrator. I found some of the other reviews very helpful. To the point that I skipped to the 4th installment then came back to this one. I think too much time was spent on our other characters. The female narrator projected her crazy character well but I did have to adjust my volume almost every time she came on.
Gideon is in rare form and more fierce in this part. It's a must have but I won't listen to it again.
I am very pleased with this series 4 books as of now. Mr. Dickey's writing is not in question, he takes you on an adventure. I am tooo thrilled with our narrator Dion Graham, he is worth following in everything he does.
This is a series that follows Gideon a contract killer. To call him a "hit man" would be an insult. This audible takes you to places you haven't been in enough detail that if you ever go to any of these location you will remember details from this book.
Not sure if there are good guys and bad guys but I was interested in all the characters. There are enough hot and steamy parts to interest men and women. You will laugh and you will stay glued to your headsets.
