The influence of ancient Roman civilization on Western culture is difficult to overestimate, especially as it affects nearly every aspect of modern life from language to law, and from military conquest to spectator sports. In this sweeping series of lectures, award-winning professor Frances Titchener explores the many accomplishments of ancient Rome and shows how the empire rose and fell, as well as how it continues to live on today.

    Jason says: "More, please!"
    "A solid Overview"
    Overall

The Lectures are well done and provide a great overview of the entire Roman empire. Makes me want to listen to some of the orginals like the twelve ceasers.

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

Kapila says: "6 titles in the series so far"
"Ender's game and entire series is great!"
    Overall

Ender's game is a great story! I can't add much to the reviews already listed but would like o note that Speaker for the Dead is also fabulous (The next in the series) and that is followed by Xenocide and then Children of the Mind. Audible does not currently have Xenocide but I'm sure if enough of us request it, It just might happen. If you haven't yet read Ender's game I suggest you do and once you do and fall in love with the clever plot and interesting characters I'm sure you'll want to continue the series as much as I do! Happy listening make sure to request Xenocide and Children of the Mind

Immanuel Kant taught and wrote prolifically about physical geography yet never traveled further than forty miles from his home in Kvnigsberg. How appropriate it is then that in his philosophy he should deny that all knowledge was derived from experience. He insisted that all experience must conform to knowledge. According to Kant, space and time are subjective; along with various "categories," they help us to see the phenomena of the world, though never its true reality.

    Jacques Ray says: "Kant lite"
    "Great Intro"
    Overall

This is a great book to get started learning about Kant. In fact the entire series is wonderful each about a great mind. and in less than 90 minutes!
