FBI Agent Pendergast has taken Constance on a whirlwind Grand Tour. They head to Tibet, where Pendergast intensively trained in martial arts and spiritual studies. At a remote monastery, they learn that a rare and dangerous artifact the monks have been guarding for generations has been stolen. Pendergast agrees to take up the search. The trail leads him and Constance to the maiden voyage of the Queen Victoria passenger liner - and to an Atlantic crossing fraught with terror.

    Overall

Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child are the writing team of the century. If you have yet to read any of their collaborative works, your in for a real treat. They take the reader to the ends of the earth in vivid Technicolor style writing.

If your new to the Agent Pendergast series start with “The Dance Of Death” then “The Book of The Dead” and finish with“ “The Wheel of Darkness” to complete this unbelievable 35 hours of bone chilling, edges of your seat entertainment that you will not soon forget. Pendergast along with other colorful characters will become your friends for life and even if you take a break between novels each book picks up where the other leaves off.

Thank you Douglas and Lincoln for helping me get thru the day, and allowing me to lose myself and travel with you, wherever you decide to go.

It was supposed to be a harmless camping trip. Six wayward teenagers who'd run into trouble with the law, and their court-appointed guardians, Sara and Martin Randhurst. Three nights on a small, deserted island off of Michigan's upper peninsula. A time to bond, to learn, to heal. Then Martin told a campfire story about the island's history. Of the old civil war prison hidden in there, and the starving confederate soldiers who resorted to cannibalism to stay alive. Everyone thought it was funny. They even laughed when Martin pretended to be dragged off into the woods.

Would you consider the audio edition of Trapped to be better than the print version?

Haven't read the print version but Audible is always my choice between the two

If you’ve listened to books by Jack Kilborn and J. A. Konrath before, how does this one compare?

As I have read all J.A. Konrath's Jack Daniels series I was a little shocked to hear that she had co-authored such a gruesom story. I had just finished reading Afraid by Kilborn previously to Trapped. It was a little much back to back.

What does Phil Gigante bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Phil Gigante is one of my favorite readers. He is a blast to listen to.

Who was the most memorable character of Trapped and why?

Sara Randhurst was the most memorable. Her strength and willingness to overcome her fears were prevelent.

    Any additional comments?

I may be dating myself but this was like revisiting "The Island Of Dr. Moreau"

New York Times best-selling author Stephen Hunter is back with another breakneck thriller, in which ex-Marine sniper, Ray Kruz, must outwit a group of murderous Somali terrorists who’ve laid siege to the Mall of America. Recently retired marine sergeant Ray Kruz has been talked into a mall trip by his fiancé, the beautiful Molly Chan. For Ray, Molly represents a way to reconnect with normal life, something his 20 years in the service and five tours in two combat zones have prevented.

If you could sum up Soft Target in three words, what would they be?

    ElligantImpressiveExciting

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Ray Cruz's skills need to be developed but it was a great Pilot book

What does Phil Gigante bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

Phil is a wonderful narrator. I love listening to anything he does.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The relationship that developed between Ray and feisty Miss Lavelva were wonderful together.

    Any additional comments?

PLEASE develop Lavelva as his partner and we are good to go for a long time series. Loved the book

    Overall

Not since Tyrannosaur Canyon have I had so much fun with a book. Douglas Preston was masterful in his story line and all the characters. Preston has the skill to blend Science Fiction with Science Fact and that is what makes this book so exciting. Anyone who has a fascination for the wonders of our Universe will truly love the story as it unfolds. Scott Sowers did an excellent job with all the Boston accents. Truly a fun read.
