Decision Points is the extraordinary memoir of America's 43rd president. Shattering the conventions of political autobiography, George W. Bush offers a strikingly candid journey through the defining decisions of his life.

I suppose that one cannot but help be influenced by one's own political persuasion when listening to this book. I consider Bush one of the worst presidents ever, but thought I would give this a try. I thought the analysis of the "decision points" were superficial. He spent as much time dwelling on a DUI arrest as he did on taking over a sovereign nation based on false intelligence. I think that is just weird.

Once in a while I stumble on an audio book that makes me dread it ending. This is one of them. I feel very fortunate to have found such a landmark work and have had the privilege to enjoy it.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared.....

It was a good story, but my gosh I was waiting for the end to come. The book could definitely have been shorter without losing anything.
