Twenty years have passed since youngest daughter Belinda's story in Love Finds a Home. Marty and Clark's spiritual heritage has been lovingly passed on to their children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. And now, beloved granddaughter Virginia faces the test of her young life. Caught in that difficult period between childhood and adulthood, feeling that she really doesn't fit anywhere, Virginia struggles against what she considers to be unreasonable restrictions and expectations.

It was a little slow in the beginning but turned out to be another good story from Janette Oke. Good for all ages but especially interesting to teens since it's a story about a young girl.

As winter settles over the ranch, the Engstrom brothers are much on the mind of Cassie Lockwood. The way Lucas smiles at her should set her heart to tripping. But it doesn't. Shouldn't there be some attraction to him if they are going to be married? His vow to make her love him does not seem to be working, no matter how considerate and charming he is. Ransom Engstrom is another matter. After Cassie's train trip to a shooting competition, she realizes she misses Ransom more than Lucas.

This book needs a warning for very explicit sexual content. Other than that it was a good story - and I would have enjoyed it without the sex. This isn't a book I would recommend.

This book was an interesting look at an American family, but it was also very depressing. The main characters were unhappy people, but they carried on in spite of their unhappiness. Strong in spite of chilling circumstances, they set a pretty good example of surviving tragedy. It was too depressing for me.
