"Best so far"
Mr Brett has definitely found himself in this sequel. The writing was excellent and pulls you right in. Even scenes that are just fighting sequences are brought to life
If you are a fan of the first two (and you should be) this sequel does not disappoint!
"Average"
I had high hopes after reading previous reviews. There was nothing special about this book, it was very average. It filled the time, but I found the main character pretty annoying at times. It is a coming of age story, however the young girl just comes off as a complaining winer rather than a woman trying to find herself. There were times when you just wanted to tell her to "shut up" :-X
I would move on. There is better stuff on Audible.
"Some of his best work"
It is definitely some of Mr. Weeks best work. It is even better than the preceding book. The development is more fluent. Also, it will catch you off gaurd and you might find yourself laughing in public. Some of the banter in the dialogue is very enjoyable.
"For fans of the series"
A fun little novella. I do not think it would hold up on it's own, but it was enjoyable if you have read the others in the series.
I would have liked a little more of a traditional story arc, but I don't regret spending the $4.
The narrator was pretty horrible though. He became very distracting at times. Definitely pulled me out of the story. He has a awkward cadence to his sentences and puts pauses where they do not belong.
"Mindless, but enjoyable."
Not really much depth in this series...it reads very much like a TV show.
That said, sometimes you are in the mood for TV! I am an older reader, so I might be a bit skewed. Maybe my review would be different if I was a teen.
If you are looking for something to pass the time on vacation or a road trip this series would be a good one.
"Not the best."
I was ready for a sequel after enjoying the first in the series, but like so many sequels this one really fell short. It just seemed like they tried to do too much with it and in the process lost a lot of what made it great.
Can't really recommend it...
"A fun little listen"
It wasn't the most in depth of stories, but it was an interesting construct of how the two tales came together. I was drawn in for both and it is definitely worth a download.
I opted to spend the $5 rather than a credit.
Narrators were good, even if they overdid it at times.
"I enjoyed it"
It has been a few years since I have read (or listened to!) Lackey's work and this one sucked me right back in. Characters are engaging and it is a fun story.
After reading the first of the trilogy, I had to track down the other two!
It is a bit YA, but very enjoyable- even for an older audience.
"Too Young Adult for me"
I had higher hopes after reading such positive reviews. The book was inconsistent at best. The conflict was very low hanging and seemed to resolve itself in the most predictable way.
I might have enjoyed it more if I was 12.
"Even better than Day 1"
It has been a long time since I have been captivated so entirely by such a good story. I have listened to over 80 titles on Audible and this one would surely make it into my top five. It was even better than the first in the series.
You may be hesitant due to the length, but not once did I feel like it was dragging. It was one long tale of adventure and you will finding yourself hanging on from chapter to chapter. I didn't want it to end!
