I really enjoyed this book. At first, it was kind of slow, a litany of childhood experiences. But as I listened, it began to grab me, and I began to really care about the characters. I enjoyed learning more about Afghan culture, especially kite-flying, which I didn't realize was such a brutal sport. Khaled Hosseini does a great job reading the book, I found his style endearing. Also interesting were his perspectives on the US, the Taliban, and September 11.
