In a world full to bursting with would-be heroes, Jim couldn't be less interested in saving the day. His fireballs fizzle. He's awfully grumpy. Plus, he's been dead for about 60 years. When a renegade necromancer wrenches him from eternal slumber and into a world gone terribly, bizarrely wrong, all Jim wants is to find a way to die properly, once and for all. On his side, he's got a few shambling corpses, an inept thief, and a powerful death wish. But he's up against tough odds....

I have been a big fan of Yahtzee's game reviews for several years so when I saw he narrated the book himself I had to buy it.

He did not disappoint. The story was better than I expected it to be. I am more of a Sci-Fi fan than Fantasy but I found this book very enjoyable.

I hope to see more books and narration from Yahtzee in the future.

While Abraham Lincoln is widely lauded for saving a Union and freeing millions of slaves, his valiant fight against the forces of the undead has remained in the shadows for hundreds of years. That is, until Seth Grahame-Smith stumbled upon The Secret Journal of Abraham Lincoln, and became the first living person to lay eyes on it in more than 140 years.

I was skeptical going into this book. I have read a lot of bad historical fiction. But the author really pulled this off.

There is enough history weaved in the story that the whole thing is more plausible that just outright fiction.

The narrator puts in a good show too. You really feel like you are listening to the guy who was writing this biography of Lincoln. He was excited at all the right parts, and stated his references and footnotes with confidence.

Highly recommended. A very fun audio book.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

    Story

This is currently my favorite book. I was a child of the 80s so attempting to predict plot points and anticipate trivial facts on a topic is some of the most fun I have had with a book in a long time.
Wil Wheaton is brilliant as always. I think hearing it in his voice really brings both the geekyness and nostalgia out of it.
The length is just right, not too long but long enough to really expose you to the universe. Although I really hated having it end.
If you have any interest in video games or the 80s or just nerd culture at all you should own this book.
