"Not quite right but close"
About middle, interesting story concept. But there was a few too many opps I wrote myself in a corners so I’ll just have the character lie to get me out of it. Or ignore facts that I kinds of had written in the book earlier. Almost made me wonder if he was a rookie writer, I may follow this book series but I don’t see myself getting to deep into his worlds.
Opps! How clumsy of me.....
"Oh no.. At lest I can say I did not see that one"
Who cares? Print is good audio is good it really depends on who in the mood for what at what time.
Well I had assumed that I could predict David's next move with this book and well he threw me a good one. Guess that is I get for being full of myself.
Yep there was, and I ain't going tell ya..... your going have to read it yourself but it dose involve to coursers and their riders.
"There may be flames but not from me turning pages."
mox-nix the one the other it really dose not matter
Recusing the sciencetists from the swamp.
the adoption scene in the midst of the flames.
A friendship formed in thunder and lighting but can it stand the flames of the fire.
I like David's work I am still on the fence about this series though. I will admit though I am above his target audience though.
"Not what I expect from Michael Williamson"
Yes
Huh? that's it?
nope
Glad this one was not my first read from Michael Z. Williamson, this one had that feel of trying to squeeze out one more book.... Which puzzles me cause he made a great world to play in.
"Short, But well worth it"
Believable, interesting, different
Scout, hey I am a sucker for the plucky comic relief who turns into a star of the show.
Read it well and gave good voice to the characters, and not many stumbles that I could find
This was a "why not?" I think I'll keep following the Nightstakers Bill Mayer does a much better job on this book than in the other Area 51 books. I think this spin off is better than the mainline that launched it. But we shall see in book 2.....
"Just could not get into this book"
Not really sure I just could not get into this book. The charters where well developed and told well. But the story just did not really grab me
"David Weber next one in the safehold series"
Maybe, I get the audio books to listen to at work. I still get the print ones as well.
Maybe he has a good strong reading voice
Once aging the change narrators in the middle of a book series and how words get pronounced changes. It really is quite jarring. I think David Weber was a bit to much scatter brained on this book. A few too many side tales and not enough focus on the main stories
"The start of a great series"
Somewhere in the top third of my collection.
Fess, Always there and by Rod's side.
Not to much. I tend to have a very active imitation, I did not like on some of his character's voices his voice dropped to where I could barley hear him.
Sword's, Sorcery , and Science???
