I like Jack Reacher books and sometimes I like cliffhangers. This time I feel like I invested a lot of time into the book, only to get a stupid cliffhanger ending. I recommending waiting to listen to this book until Part 2 is available this fall.
I have been anxiously awaiting this book after the huge cliffhanger in the last book, but on the day it was published I checked the reviews. There were 21 people on the first day giving it 5 stars. Really? For a book that is 19 hrs long? Sounds like an overdone marketing campaign to me. Since I had been waiting so long for the book, I decided to read it anyway. I liked it, but I was going to give it 1 star just out of protest. Instead, I decided to give it the score it deserved and add this comment. This book did wrap up a lot of outstanding items and but it certainly isn't the most amazing book I have ever listened to. I would have liked it better with some better editing. This easily could have been 10-12 hrs rather than 19. If I had been reading rather than listening, I would have skipped over huge sections. Maybe that is what the 21 reviewers did, but if so, how could they give it 5 stars?
