The plot in the book was good and the characters were strong and well-developed. I would take a look at another book by the author as long as it was not the same narrator.
One of the most memorable points in the book was when Sarah first went in the barn to meet Maddie. The tension builds from the moment she first hears the footsteps to the point where she finds the fire surrounding her. First contact !!
I found the narrators voice to be plodding and monotone. The result was that this book that should have left you sitting on the edge of your seat really ended up putting you in a comfy armchair with a cup of tea to keep you awake
This was a good storyline and excellent charactor development.
I loved the relationship between Tim and George,
I have to say Ms Larkin's performance of George was my favorite. She conveyed his vulnerability and the extent of his disability really well while still showing he had the same fears and determination as his siblings.
Being a big fan of Seanan McGuire, I waited none to patiently for this book to come out. I was not disappointed. The plot was excellent pulling you in immediately from the first chapter. The characters were well developed and elicited concern and compassion from the reader.
The narrator was excellent and greatly enhanced a very enjoyable read.
