A cop with nothing left to lose, Burke Basile is out to get revenge. Corrupt lawyer Pinkie Duvall has cost him his best friend’s life and his job. Kidnapping Pinkie Duvall’s trophy wife seems the perfect way to get even. There’s just one problem. He doesn’t foresee the electric attraction he’ll feel for this lonely, desperate woman from New Orleans. Sandra Brown’s flair for concocting just the right blend of passion and mystery has made her one of America’s most popular writers.

During a train trip from Chicago to Texas in the late 1940s, A.W. Tozer began to write The Pursuit of God. He wrote all night, and when the train arrived at his destination, the rough draft was done. The depth of this book has made it an enduring favorite.

Before he became a novelist, Michael Connelly was a crime reporter, covering the detectives who worked the homicide beat in Florida and Los Angeles. In vivid, hard-hitting articles, Connelly leads the reader past the yellow police tape as he follows the investigators, the victims, their families and friends, and, of course, the killers, to tell the real stories of murder and its aftermath.

What would have made Crime Beat better?

If I had wanted to read a bunch of newspaper articles, I could have gone to the library. I want to hear a story, from beginning to end.

What was most disappointing about Michael Connelly’s story?

It wasn't a story; just a bunch of newspaper articles regurgitated.

How could the performance have been better?

Would you listen to As the Crow Flies again? Why?

The Walt Longmire series is a favorite. I will listen to the series again and I can't wait until Craig Johnson writes more. With humor and compassion, Johnson tells a great story!

He is unfit for duty - until he meets his new partner. Maggie is not doing so well, either. The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. They are each other’s last chance.

Leland - Sgt. Leland and Maggie, I cannot choose one over the other

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Fifty Shades Darker focused a bit more on the relationship between Christian and Anastasia. I enjoyed the excitement and danger as well.

I found myself looking for reasons to get into my car so I could listen, rather than my usual avoiding driving like the plague.

What about Becca Battoe’s performance did you like?

Becca is a master at creating and maintaining all the character's different voices. She makes it easy to listen to.

    Any additional comments?

Actually, I'm on my second time around listening. I think I'll listen to all three again.

Would you consider the audio edition of Fifty Shades of Grey to be better than the print version?

I couldn't say- I did not read the print version.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Love all the great sex, but, let's get real about the orgasms - does anyone really have that many, that easily?

What does Becca Battoe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I am usually in my car, so I do not have time to read a book. I do, however, have plenty of time to listen to audiobooks in traffic.

Having the book read is the only way I would ever finish it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Something about his or her lips, his long fingers, or his copper hair.
