This book is a classic and one of my all time favorites. Simon Vance adds so much more to the story with his rich, scary voice.
I liked all of the Hunger Games books but this one was by far the best. It's the transition between them and that's probably why it's the most exciting and moving. There so much information to grasp it's no wonder they weren't able to capture everything from the book on film. The narrator does such a great job of capturing the audience's attention with her interpretation of the characters. You have to read all 3!
Like most of Flynn's books, it's a great mystery read. The characters are disturbingly dark but that's what makes this mystery a more interesting to read. You might think you see the ending coming but it's that plus a hundred times worse. Also, I'm very picky about narrators but Lee does a great job with all of the characters.
I got this audiobook for free so I can't complain but it was pretty cheesy. Ball busting chick falls for incredibly hot vampire who likes to press her buttons, obvious drama ensues. A lot of empty dialogue and predictable plot. It's a short listen and I was intrigued enough to finish it, if that helps? The narrator wasn't half bad, it's the story line that's questionable.
If you love Cohen's show on Bravo then you'll love this book. That same fun loving personality comes across when he reads. Some part of his story can get too drawn out but for the most part he is very entertaining. Maybe a funny notch below but if you like Tina Fey's Bossypants you will enjoy this book. I thought it was funnier than any of Chelsea Handler's books. Everyone is different so I suggest you listen to the sample, it's pretty indicative of the rest of the feel of the book.
Interesting information in the book for sure but we all know a narrator can make or break a book. Strauss's voice is so monotone throughout the ENTIRE book.. the instances where it's not, you can tell he is forcing himself. He should have left it to the pros if he wanted to sell this audiobook and maybe not given in to his ego (a conclusion I drew from listening to the actual contents of this book). I think anyone who is interested should get an actual copy because this audiobook is BAD.
Maybe I'm just a fan of Susan Bennett's narration but I did not find this book entertaining in the least. The story was cute and I laughed out loud maybe once. I found myself daydreaming about other things, not paying attention to the audiobook, and not caring about rewinding and replaying the parts I missed. I'm a huge fan of Moore but I don't think I would pay for the sequel to this book if/when it comes out.
It's a great listen! Narrator does an awesome job, each character is unique! The plot is a mystery within a mystery, which makes the story so intriguing. There are a lot of characters and clues you have to really pay attention to but each significant on their own. This one I could not stop listening to! I can't wait for the third installment!
Harkness does a great job of developing the plot line as well as the characters. My favorite part of this book is it's set up for book 2. Everything is connected so well and theres a mystery within a mystery, making you want to keep listening. Ikeda does a great job narrating as well, each character was so unique!
Witty, inspirational, hilarious, and too short! I wish she could've gone on about her life some more because, besides the funny situations, I could listen to her all day everyday! She is brilliantly funny!
I can't say enough good things about Moore's writing and Susan Bennet's narration. They both do such a great job with the characters and make the book worth the time and money you spend on them. The plot is the best of the 3 books and this is where "Abbey" is introduced, making it my personal favorite.
