Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

I'm surprised at all the rave reviews of this series. The idea behind the story is very exciting and entertaining, but the characters are very poorly developed. They seem flat, unreal, almost two dimensional. It's hard to really care about the story when you hardly know the main characters.

Jane Austen's final novel is the story of Anne Elliot, a woman who gets a second chance. As a teenager she becomes engaged to a man who seems perfect for her, Frederick Wentworth. But she is persuaded to break the engagement off by her friend Lady Russell, who believes that he is too poor to be a suitable match.

I love Jane Austen and have read/listened to almost all of her books. Persuasion was way down on my list until I listened to this recording. The narrator gives so much life, spirit, and character to the story that it is now one of my favorite Austen works.

A definitive, deeply moving narrative, Bonhoeffer is a story of moral courage in the face of the monstrous evil that was Nazism. After discovering the fire of true faith in a Harlem church, Bonhoeffer returned to Germany and became one of the first to speak out against Hitler. As a double agent, he joined the plot to assassinate the Führer and was hanged in Flossenbürg concentration camp at age thirty-nine. Since his death, Bonhoeffer has grown to be one of the most fascinating, complex figures of the twentieth century.

This book provides an inside look what it was like for Germans in WWII. I bought this book to learn but found it very entertaining as well.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The best book club you’ve never heard of – but will be eager to join, courtesy of a full cast of true characters. January 1946: London is emerging from the shadow of the Second World War, and writer Juliet Ashton is looking for her next book subject. Who could imagine that she would find it in a letter from a man she's never met, a native of the island of Guernsey, who has come across her name written inside a book by Charles Lamb....

This book is fun and informative at the same time. I learned a lot about WWII. The different narrators make this book wonderful to listen to. Probably my favorite audio book ever!
