"An incredible work of art"
This novel is a pleasure in every way. Every one of the characters is complex and fully drawn. The attention to detail is intense. This is one of those books that you step into and have trouble coming back.
The narrator delivers an incredible performance, so good that she disappears behind the characters.
My only disappointment is that the rest of this authors works are only offered in abridged versions. Sorry, but I feel that abridging works of this quality is a sin. Completely unimaginable.
I went to the store and bought written fiction
for the first time since I subscribed to Audible five years ago.
"Not "The Host""
Listened to The Host by this author. Didn't want it to end. This is nothing like that book. I ignored the reviews that said this was juvenile. Should have listened. This is written from a very immature point of view. Look forward to more from this author, but the Twilight series is not what I was hoping for.
"Slow"
This is my first Mallory novel. Guess I should have llistened to some of the older stuff first. It wsn't a bad novel, but certainly not a real good one. for the last several hours I kept checking to see how much more I had to listen to before I could move on.
"Works in less than a week..."
As with most human behavior, the key to successful change lies in changing the way one thinks. With "Deep Sleep Every Night" I have been able to 1) start going to bed earlier (and feeling good about it); 2) sleep through the night without waking; and 3) start remembering my dreams again. The hyponsis is more like guided mediation, and the instructions and suggestions are ethical and "as advertised." The affect of the hyponsis is to allow "new" thinking to replace ineffectual ideas and self-talk. The information leads to ideas which lead to emotions which lead to beliefs and moves from unconscious to conscious with the behavior change. As with any successful behavior change, the nightly effectiveness and long-term success are entirely up to me. I anticipate that in three weeks I will only need to listen to this on nights of heavy stress. I was a little disappointed with the audio quality, but I have not had a chance to listen to it on headphones as suggested, which I suspect would be even more powerful. I have already started listening to another of his titles and will be buying at least two more within the month.
