Eleven-year-old Melody has a photographic memory that makes her the brightest kid in her school. Unfortunately, her teachers and doctors don’t believe she can even learn. Unable to talk, walk, or write, she longs to tell what she thinks and knows. Trapped inside her own mind, she finally discovers how to “speak.” And yet some may not be ready to hear her voice.

This book was an eye opener. Just because you are in a wheelchair doesn't mean you cant do something. Melody showed that if you put your mind to it anything is possible.

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning-author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

The reason I did not give it 5 stars because I don't believe this is appropriate for middle school students. Too much mature content.

Jeannette Walls's memoir The Glass Castle was "nothing short of spectacular" (Entertainment Weekly). Now, in Half Broke Horses, she brings us the story of her grandmother, told in a first-person voice that is authentic, irresistible, and triumphant.

I loved this book. I couldn't wait to listen to this book again. I drive an hour to work and back home. When I got at work I listened on my lunch break and at home. As a school teacher I was able to connect with Lily being a teacher, and I grew up on a farm like she did.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.
