I loved this book! It is second in a sequel but can be read as a stand alone as well.
Read "the winter sea" first to get background on characters. Both books are excellent.
Ok, all of the reviews I have read have been disappointed in this book and yes I am sad that the ending was not HEA, but I feel the author was leading up to this all along. It made me think about standing up for what I believe is right and not backing down. It's easy to stand on the side lines and let other people do the dirty work. Just think if no one took chances and tried to change things during the american revolution we wouldn't live in this great country today. War is sacrifice and war sucks but thank god there are people out there willing to give up there lives for the greater good. I was balling at the end of this book but I in no way felt cheated. Tris did not want to die, nobody does, but her courage inspires me and I think that was the message here. We all want a happy ending but sometimes thats just not the way it is. There are people out there today just like Tris, I honor and respect them and thank them for there service because after all- Tris was a soldier. God bless our soldiers and God bless America!!
This was a short and sweet love story. Some of the dialog was a bit corny but all and all a good read. If your in the mood for a light love story that ends with no over done trilogy then go for it.
Justine was great as usual, I don't know why they are doing more and more duel narration, I hate it, It's like watching a movie with two actors playing the same part. I think good narrators make the characters and just when you get used to them someone else comes in a messes it all up. Anyway enough of my ranting, Happy reading!!
This was a well written book that kept my interest throughout. I't did have the hunger games feel to it but different on to it self. The narrator was really good and I am going to read next book for sure. If you like this genre of post apocalyptic subject matter you will enjoy this.
This book was not your every day erotica. It read more like a diary of a young english girl who was tired of her boyfriend and her mundane life. She goes on vacation alone and ends up in the hands of some shady men. Anyway not to go into the whole plot, this book was a well written and although it has strong sexual content I am not sure it can be called erotic.
It was the journey of one woman on a quest to find herself. There are some very dark and disturbing parts of this book so be warned, it's not for the faint of heart. I will defiantly read more of this authors books.
To start, let me say I enjoyed the first two books. This one however was not even close to being as good. The author turned the main character, Sarah into a whinny, second guessing, wishy washy little annoying fool. I couldn't even bring my self to finnish it, I tried really hard but My eyes were getting sore from rolling them so much. Now I know every one who read the first two books feel obligated to read the last but don't say I didn't warn you.
Wow, I really enjoyed this book. Best love story I've read in a long time. It hit all of my emotions. Both characters were awesome and it was well read. I was sad when it was over. It had all the angst and misunderstandings that all books of this type do but not over done. Love scenes were perfect as well. defiantly worth the credit.
I really enjoyed first two books of this series, but I can't finish this one. I have tried, it is just so boring. A lot of gratuitous sex but nothing else, sorry J but I tried!!
Probably one of the best erotica books I have read. Great mixture of historical romance and hot sex. Read the "Gentlemen's Wager" first you won't be disappointed.
I hope Madelynne records more of her books in this series.
I have had this in my wish list for awhile thinking it was another CEO billionaire meets nice fsog type girl. Actually I was pleasantly surprised, It did have dominant billionaire but a nice James Bond twist to it. It flowed along nicely and the love scenes were quite hot as well. Can't wait for next book. Be warned, This did have a cliffhanger.
